I've got my 2018 dclb or 4-4 at the dealer for my 5000 service, oil change and a few little warranty items.
I'm requesting that my blinkers be reprogrammed. When I lightly press the blinker switch it blinks 3 times, I'd like to change that to 5 or 7 blinks. I've read on TW that it's possible to have the dealer change that setting. My dealer has told me twice that's it's not possible to change the setting. I'm not asking them to do it for free.
Does anyone have more information about this procedure and have you had yours reprogrammed ?

Thanks for you time and knowledge

Look for another Dealer, when I had my truck in to have my tires put on I asked them to change it to 5 blinks, they did it free of charge.

It can be done. My dealer said it could not because of the Blind spot monitor. I said O.k and when I got home I downloaded carista and paid for the week pass. I already had the Bluetooth dongle. I made the change and sent the salesman an email. It can be done.

I didn't try to make sense of it. It was a slaesman talking, I wasn't really in the mood to argue, I knew I could do it, so I left.

He said he was sorry, and stated that he would pass that info on to the shop guys. My guess is that is as far as it went, I would bet he never mentioned it to anyone.

I have a better one for my service needs, I just bought the truck from this one because they had one of the last Inferno Sports in the area. All I asked for during the PDI was do not install the front plate mount, and change the blinks to 5. I guess 1 out of 2 is the best I could I get.

They don't do it because it takes time. If you want to get shot done like that, best time is when you buy the truck. Bundle it into the deal.
With my truck, I got a pro grille and flaps added in no charge.

I had my dealer change mine to 5 flashes, they charged me $19 to do it. They won’t do any extras for free.

Whats your location? Maybe there are members local to you that have Carista or Techstream and can help you out?
