My best advice: figure out what you want your radio to do. Then find a radio/antenna combo that'll do it. There's a CB shop at 410/I-10 East, those guys know EVERYTHING. Drop by and chat em up. Buy your parts, install, tune, talk. Drop mic.

    A true 1/4 wave, 102" or 108" long antenna.
    Same thing Mark (@LostHusker) has

Now that I think of it my antenna might be 1/8 wave...

A little something every chance we get.
Yes. The racoon tail. Many lives ago, in Michigan, at Big Fish Lake, neighboring the little bar. Son of the owner of the bar, had said racoon tail on a 39 Plymouth Coupe. "Did you kill the coon?"
"No, was already dead. So I stopped and got the tail for the antenna."
Because, that's the way it is.

    Haha nice

I think I was born like 60 years late...

I used to love that cartoon. I've always wanted a trash panda tail on an extra long antenna on a hot rod because of it.

nah, based on your comments since we've "met", don't think so. You have great appreciation for things around you, that's obvious! And that doesn't matter when you got here. Always joke with folks that have to know my birthday - if I'd been born ten years earlier, all they need to do is count.just
    1.23.55.

You guys in the Whirlybirds both amaze and crack me up! You all seem to have the same perspectives.

Well, thank you. I do enjoy and appreciate a lot of the modern amenities and conveniences available to us today. Especially in this country. I try not to take any of it for granted and consider myself extremely lucky. Enough about me.

Lol, that would be something if you'd been born in 45!

There are a ton of unique traits among helicopter pilots! Most of us are mechanically inclined, prefer to do it own maintenance/modifications to our vehicles. Many of us ride motorcycles. A lot of us also play the drums, however, most of us are musically inclined. Those are the top three but there are a bunch more. Motorcycles, music, mechanics, mhelicopters.

If you're interested to see what is like to fly one, flight schools usually offer discovery flights where they take you up and give you the controls to see how you like it. Even if you never plan to become a pilot is a fun experience.

Hey @Oldie2007, my truck had previously been wrecked and had some body work done. The paint is starting to dull in 2 places on the bed near the tail light. Do you think that stuff you used on your roof would restore the shine?
