I've got some money set aside for a 2in lift.
My debate is if I go all out on coilovers for the front and a cheap AAL for the rear with factory shocks till I can afford the matching rears. Thinking (king, radflo, icon)
roughly 1300 to get started with radflo or icon. 1600 with kings
    Or
Spend substantial less on a a full bilstein 5100/ ome coils kit with 3 leaf AAL
    $828

The benefit of the safe money would be sliders sooner rather than later.

Seems like it would feel pretty unbalanced/stupid to have performance coilovers in the front and stock shocks AND an add a leaf which makes it stiffer than stock in the rear...
I'd say just go with 5100s and coils and leaf pack now, or wait till you're ready to do front and back performance shocks.

I'm slowly ordering my parts now.

    - Already have 5100s on my truck front and back.
    - Just ordered my 888 coils.
-leaning towards SPC UCAs due to my alignment shop recommending these. Will be ordering these in a couple weeks.
-will order medium duty dakars at the same time.

Did you need performance coil overs and their maintenance intervals?

Why not just save more and do it all at once? Is there a need to put a lift on right now?

Buy once cry once. Save up for a proper kit or just do the normal route of bilsteins at every corner

Plus you're gunna need UCAs with the 888 coils so the $828 number is not ideal.

Good question. I dont know yet. I come from a jeep where rock crawling was all slow stuff. Moving into the taco isn't the same. gonna be more trail stuff. I've ran the factory bilstein offroad once and didnt have much complaints but running faster on dirt wouldnt be terrible

Cheap is a word that shouldn’t be used at all when it comes to you’re vehicle.

Not immediately. I'd really like to get off these factory crap tires. Gonna be put to a lot more use come spring.

Tires will go much further than a lift in terms of offroad capability. I'm saving up for a lift currently. First changes were tires and added sliders. Lift probably in a year or so

Put some 265/75's on there and save up for the rest of your suspension.

Its not that I cant afford it. I could grab the stage 7 icon kit if I wanted to but building a kit that will reach my needs as I learn the truck and what I'll actually use it for is smart for me. I hate spending money I dont have to.

You don't "have to" spend any money at all, period.
Seems like you should see what you actually need and "have to" spend money on instead of frankensteining a lift in the mean time. Just my two cents.

Also, I thought you had already decided on your OME full lift kit in that other thread you posted about the same topic?

I had. Until the price got closer to a set of coilovers. Near 1400 for those assembled
