I just went through my downloads and figured I could share this to maybe clarify the receant tunes and what they are about.

    105 released on:
    12/20 was the original release
    12/22 adjusted 1-2 shift and corrected idle/surging.
12/29 corrected the 4th gear hang and more idle adjustments.
I believe another version exists that is available based on open ticket requests and is correcting low RPM surge.

Thanks guys. I'm happy to reprogram and even happier I don't have to pay the dealer to do it.

I really need to post an in-depth review of 1.05, but I need to put more miles on it. I’m about 400 miles on 1.05 and I can now say with confidence:

This is the best thing to ever happen to my truck.

    MPG are amazing.
Low end power exist and is useful.

I didn’t get a tundra. I am more than happy with my truck.

You know, a lot of the issues with a 91/93 tune & gas that works fine/better with the 87 tune might just be the station/distributor ripping people off by selling 87 or whatever as 91/93.

Holy shit I just ordered the 2018+ auto tune. It was really hard for me to drop that kinda cash, but I pretty much said fuk it. I spent a shit ton of money on the truck and I plan on keeping it a long time. So yeah. Can't wait to get my kit. What's the average lead time from order date to getting my kit at my doorstep? I am im the midwest.

So excited. I hope it is as good as everyone says it is.

Flashed to 87 tonight (from 91) and yah, there’s definitely something weird going on because 87 seems to drive better out of the box. Going to give it a solid comparison on the same commute tomorrow.

I would plan on a few weeks before you actually have the tune AND files in hand. If it happens sooner, all the better! It's worth the wait.

I’ve been running the 1.05 since after Xmas on a 2018 in Canada and it’s perfect. 1.04 is more balls but 1.05 is great. No surge, idle stumble, no problems, rattles or trolls. Just my 2c.
Thanks again @OVTune for a great product.

Go to the first post of this thread and download the dongleless instructions. You can do everything up to connecting the Tactrix cable up to the truck. When you receive your Tactrix cable in the mail, connect it to the truck, Identify your ECU and send OVTune another email. OVTune will email you tune files and you will be ready to flash. This will expedite the process greatly.

So, I tow pretty often. 19' travel trailer, 3800lbs fully loaded, and I travel out west quite a bit.
I want the higher octane tune for towing purposes.
    (flashing 1.05 tomorrow I can't wait)

65% of the time I can get 93 octane.

Anyway, is it better to go with the 93 tune and use 91 when I must, or go with the 91 tune and use 93 when only 89 or 93 are available?

What's the consensus here when your specific tune octane isn't available, use the next lower or higher octane?

(Even if I got a handheld, I really don't to be reflashing every time I can't find my specific octane).

Per Mat, you need to run the octane of the tune or HIGHER, not LOWER. To do so risks pinging, knocking, and bye bye pistons.

there is another step in there for emailing information to OVTune.
    1. Download and read the instructions, reread them a couple times. Note the disabling of ALL your anti virus software or create exceptins.
    2. It should take about 1 week to get your kit from Mat.
    3. Get your truck ECU info and email Mat that info, expect 1-3 BUSINESS days for a reply.
    4. You'll get a registration key number, use this and get more info off your truck to email Mat, expect 1-3 BUSINESS days for a reply.
    5. Your tunes will be in the third email, should be 4 in total, 87, 91, 93 and stock
    6. Flash the desired tune to your truck.

In total expect the process to take about 2 weeks max, this will also depend on how busy he is finishing up his roll out of the last 1.05 files for AT stragglers and the redheaded bastard stepchildren with MT's.
