I guess you could do that. How are you ensuring you aren't going to have the bolts loosen after driving on washboard/bouncing around? I don't see a split washer so my guess is thread locker.

I plan on using a dot of loctite, I just got the parts today and used bolts I had laying around

Also rivnuts do have some elasticity so that helps

TRD Off Road sticker. Not the whole package, just the sticker.
This thread and this snorkel prove the 1st gen market is deffinatly not "dead" like you hear from a most fabricators. Maybe not as much demand as 2nd gens, but there are still a lot of us out here buying mods. This seller has probably made a killing off these snorkels.

I wouldn't be surprised. You are modifying the air intake and I know that some of those hot-air intakes they call "performance" upgrades get some people to fail.

@Fernando - you're in CA and have an ARB snorkel - do you have any issues with SMOG?

Since the factory airbox is still intact and not hacked up or replaced, I imagine it wouldn't be an issue.

Quite soon farting will be illegal in California (unless you have CARB certified underwear).:alien:

Shouldn't be a problem, I had the same concern but there are many here with snorkels on in CA and haven't had a problem. CA only cares about what comes after the MAF sensor, which the snorkel doesn't effect.

Worst case situation, you get a dick tech/station, remove the snorkel. Put some painters tape or cardboard over the hole in the fender. Nothing from stock has changed, the airbox is not modified. All good.

Don't think this is an issue.
