So I have noticed something weird.

I have even running the early version 1.05, 91 file with 91 gas.

I noticed some weird hesitation when I got on it a alittle and did not shift after 3k rpm from 1>2. There was also a hesetation in 4th with mild throthle going about 40 MPH.

At about 300 miles ,this has seemingly been much less noticable. I shift at 3k and for the most part these symptoms have gone away. If I short shift around 2.5k and don't make a deliberate shift, I get the hesiatation from 1>2.

However. Driving from Utah to Mesguite I noticed that in all but the big, and fairly long inclines, I could stay in 6th ( in cruise) and just motor up any hill. I lost only 1-2 mph, depending on the grade, but damn! That power in 6th is nuts.

Overall, if I shift at 3k through 3rd gear, the truck is just crazy powerfull. I hope the new rewrite of 1.05 keeps the power but smooths out some of those hesetations when shifting sooner then 3k

    From Mat, Yesterday (alpha thread):

    - For pending tickets that need custom tuning / options (like gear lock) etc - You will receive our logger once we open up custom tunes. There is not a ETA on this yet.
    - We are actively working through other tickets right now and preparing for MT release.
    - If you have a pending ticket with an issue, we will get to it as fast as we can. PMing me here, posting here will not get anything solved any faster.
    - We expect Handhelds to be ready to go by end of this month, possibly sooner.
-Please be patient while we work through everything as fast as we can. If you have not heard back on your ticket yet that does NOT mean you are being ignored.
    - For people who have issues that require logging to diagnose, we are sending the logger out to you.

I'll be off the forums for a while, while we update and get through everyone.

    Soon :)

    Hey all.
I’m patiently waiting for 1.05 and I agree we should stick here for any comments to Mat. And block any of those wankers in the main thread if they try to hyjack this thread.

What are y’all getting for mileage? My 19MT has 1,500 miles and so far is getting 15.5-16 mpg. I have been running 91 fuel since my first fillup.
Is there a break in period for this engine? Or long term fuel trim learning for the obd? I have taken a trip to Seattle and a trip almost to the California border and held it at 70mph.

I am going to be putting mad miles on this truck and I’m not above regearing it to taller 3.91 hwy gears when I do the front locker project ( low range is a button away ). I bought this truck as a very capable 4wd that was touted as getting up to 25 mpg so the current 15-16 is a dog that won’t hunt for me.

I’m also considering the Injen intake and the URD cat delete extractor pipes & Y pipe exhaust system. Already has the Pro exhaust for whatever that is worth.

Thoughts. Real world experience. Love to hear it.

I got just shy of 16 on a trip down to Mesquite averaging mostly 80mph. I usually get about 18-19 when not in winter months.

I average about 20-23 highway. I wouldn’t change the gears in an MT unless you are going to big heavy tires - in which case mileage is going to suck anyway.

17MT 4x4 OR on pre-1.05FO93 (full otto), stock everything. I get a consistent 18 smiles per mile. I've gotten up to 21MPG (city/hwy) but it makes for a boring drive. I shift 1>2 at 3.5kRPM so 2nd gear would fall at the 2k band, and the rest at 3k. At 55 or less, it's in 5th or lower, anything above will be 6th. I can literally creep at 1100RPM in 6th with no shutter and it will still have enough to crawl around during traffic hour. Damn Prius drivers.

Pre-1.05FO93 makes for a very fun truck to drive. Probably can get great mileage at 65MPH or less but I'm always at 80MPH.

@ripdawwg I have the URD cat delete y pipe and next to the tune it is the best investment for power I have made. Just a word of warning though, it really opens up the system and you may experience an undesirable drone and loss of low end torque. I solved this by putting in a 18"x2 1/2 spiral louvered glasspack (resonator) I also have the flowmaster American thunder dual outlet system so that probably accounted for the majority of the drone.

ETA I also get about 16mpg but I also have larger heavier tires and winch/bumpers

When I get back home, I'm going to flash to 91 FO and give it a better shake down. Only put about 100 miles on it last time, but going to run it till the full 1.05 comes out, which should allow me at least 300 miles as well.

I tried all the versions and found that my truck responds best with 1.05FO93. It doesn't feel dead in any gear and 6th is usable for mild acceleration.

The 1>2 shift in this truck has always sucked. It sucked on my 2014 too, just a little less though. Even stock, if you didn't rev the crap out of 1st, the shift into 2nd was not pleasant. I don't think it is specifically related to the tune.

It sucks less with the tune and the accumulator delete.

I don't get 93 gas in Utah so I will have no choice but use 91

First thing I noticed after doing the delete yesterday. I usually ease into second at lower rpms and then let 2nd do the work.

i spent time dialing down the volume level on my exhaust. it flows like it's open but runs about the same volume level as the TRD catback, so I'm super happy with it. i may get restless at some point and do more for kicks.

so yeah i had the Budbuilt trac bar. all i can say is to read this and ask me any q's you may have: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/crazy-leak-from-the-rear-end-overnight.548948/

Man, can't say enough good things WRT the ADM. Every situation involving the clutch is just better.

Just bought my first Tacoma. 2018 pro MT. Been lurking TW for a while and it’s very expensive. OV kit is due to arrive any day, and after reading learned my life is incomplete without a delete kit, so it’s on the way as well.

I would love the 7k rev limit raise, as it would not make any real difference for the guys that don’t need it.
Love this thread, the main one is way to convoluted.
