Did we ever get the new 1.05 dyno results from that independent shop?

In order for the dyno results to be accurate the truck has to be dyno'ed bone stock, flashed 1.05 87, driven 300+miles then dynoed and so on and so forth. The tunes really adapt and learn after a few hundred miles. Even the first 100 miles the truck feels different from the first drive off after flashing. Also, gear lock capability for 4th gear (1:1) input to output shaft ratio is required I could only presume would be necessary.

if you tow and run the 93 tune but only have 91 in the tank you may have problems.

if you weren't towing you'd be fine if light on the throttle but i'm not sure if mat programmed the ecu to pull timing enough under load if the octane level is too low for the 93 tables.

edit: or keep some octane booster with you

needs to be the same dyno too. every dyno reads differently.

@OVTune my assumption would be that with flashing an 87 version of the tune, the ECU will still make essentially the same timing advance adjustments for 93 as it would on a stock calibration, correct? Or is there any fine tuning in the 87 what would result in less advance for premium fuel than on stock when running the 87 version?

Thanks for that info. Currently running the 1.05 93 octane.
I’ll re-flash next week to try 87....after some mileage on 93.
After barely 100 miles on 1.05 93, 285/70r16 tires, 160# cap, gearing is definetly smoother than 1.04. Tried cruise control, going over over-passes as my ‘hills’, at most downshifts 1 gear as opposed to multiple gears, way smoother.....happy.
Very, very, slightly less acceleration from a stopped position compared to 1.04. Not an issue. Might get better with more miles after ‘learning’ ?
Regardless, drives better than 1.04 91 octane.

You will also have to wait a few days to ID your ecu and get those files.

Dynos are good for real-time tuning. Comparing charts from one dyno to another is meaningless. Even the same dyno on different days or even different times of days could also give you false differences in power/torque.

Thanks for all the quick replies explaining the process. I didn't realize I had to send a few e-mails back and forth, but I read the entire dongle-less instructions and I now know what to do.

There really is a huge following for this tune. A lot of people backing and supporting this is great. Makes me feel better about dropping the cash on this thing. I am really looking forward to getting the tune applied.

You have to send two emails. Get the first one sent now and then when your kit shows up in the mail you can send the last one.

I can attest to that. I'm at over 300 miles now on 93, it's running better than it ever has (since the day I bought it 1/4/16), shifts better than it ever has, and the hard clunk 2>1 downshift while still there for the first couple drives, is now gone. I can still feel it at times but it's much smoother.

Thanks Mat! This truck shits n gets now (especially in S mode shifting it myself) and is finally a blast to drive!

How does 1.05 interact with adaptive cruise control on 2018 and newer?
The OVtune page states: "At this current time our EROM changes do NOT work for adaptive cruise. Sorry we are working on this!".
Is there a way to disable adaptive cruise so that the improvements of 1.05 can be used on 2018+ trucks while using cruise control?

    ( 0403 - 1.05 / 87 + SSP)

What is pleasantly and noticeably missing for me after only 100 miles is the rev up and Wham ! from a stop when the truck used to launch.
It was like slipping the clutch ! So far that is a thing of the past. Much improved response in acceleration over all.

Just a shame I have learned to dislike this little Biatch so much over the last 20K miles..... I don't know if I can ever forgive or trust her.

(Lack of balls definitely makes this one a "her")

I have my first real highway drive coming up tomorrow! Already have about ~300 miles of around-town driving. Heading out to Cape Cod from Western Mass. It'll be a good test of cruise on 1.05/93.

Thinking of flashing to 1.05-87 and running 91. The fear of less than optimal gas being purchased has set in. If the 87 tune can still adjust timing to the octane, it could make sense. And a few guys have reported liking the 87 tune better. So many options.

Yes,. when setting cruise control, hold the button in for about 3 seconds. The icon in the dash will change, and you will have "old fashioned" cruise control.

worth a shot, the 87 tune made a difference for me so far.

good question and i'd like to know this as well. my guess is that timing advance wouldn't be as far as the 91/93 so you'd have less over all power at the top end or high load scenarios. just a guess.
