you have to push it down before it clicks and release. you'll get the 3 blinks. if you push down and hold before it clicks it will just keep blinking until you release.

Since you brought up Jesus Christ in your pleasant comment, here's a couple of verse You might ponder

    Proverbs 18:2
Fools find no pleasure in understanding
but delight in airing their own opinions

    Eph 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.

Thanks again for all the helpful replies, it should be taken care of today when I give the techstream PDF to my service writer

With motor cyclists lane splitting at 90mph when we're all doing 75, not to mention all the other idiots on the road who are more interested in their phones than what's in front of them I'd prefer a larger chance of catching their attention to my lane change.

Like, I want metal bumpers. But I don't have the $$ for that yet. So until then, nobody gets to hit my truck.

I might see if I can get the dealer to put it to 5 blinks next time I take it in.

Tell your service adviser to ...
    1) Buy a 3rd gen Tacoma
    2) Join TacomaWorld
    3) Spend countless hours cruising the website
    4) Think endlessly about modding his truck down to the final detail

Now he will know everything about your truck, including blinker count.
    Problem solved

OP your request is fine, my point is the guys at the dealership are probably doing the best they can. I don't know everything about my job either

The adapter is $20 with a free 1-month trial for access to customize features. Reading codes is always available. The app is free. After the trial it's $10 for 1 week, or $40 for one year. If you have a compatible adapter, just download the app. You won't get the free trial period and will need to pay $10 to activate the capability to change features.

$20 for the adapter with free 1-month trial is definitely cheaper than any dealer charging to do it. Plus you can read any CEL codes yourself. Some shops charge just to read codes.

Why are some people here so hostile? There's a lot of threads to read and contribute to. If you don't agree with one and have nothing positive to say, move on. We're all obviously in this forum because of our trucks. To get ideas. To learn. To share. I don't get the need for trolling and grief.

I very simply said that I can't conceive of any possible need for this, except MAYBE for those with a compulsive need to spend money. haha If that is "trolling" and "hostile" then TW is setting the bar for trolling and hostility pretty damn low.

No worries - I should probably be more grateful for the entertainment value of this sort of stuff.
I wonder, can Carista hook me up so my puddle-illumination lights blink in tandem with my 10-blink-lane-change alert system?

Did you mod your key fob so you can remotely activate your TW "ignore" button? Can Carista help with that?

PSA - now THIS might actually qualify as "trolling". lol

I got the reader to monitor temps while towing, but I also used it to reprogram mine to 7 and love it that way- just long enough to make left turns on greens when you dont have to wait for oncoming cars, and for switching lanes. Less wear and tear on the switch, too!

Those who harp on it don’t have a valid opinion about it unless they’re tried it.

Like another poster commented; if you need an extra blink or two in those special occasions, just hold the lever down a second or two more. Its free and no frustration!
