Good morning friends. Another day home for me. 'Slept' (read as hacked all night) in the recliner. Now to get this antibiotic horse pill down. It's bigger than a damn suppository!

Good news here in Wisconsin. A 13 year old girl who has been missing after her parents were killed has been found, alive. They did arrest the SOB that did it.

Morning folks!! It is TGIF for me, can not wait till 5 so I can walk away from this place this week... It's always like this after a couple of short weeks!!

Reminded me of something I heard last week....We were visiting the school where my grandson is attending. It was an "Educational Fair"....A young man was giving a talk on the assassination of John Kennedy. He told the onlookers that Kennedy was shot from a "book suppository". I had blood trickling down my lip I was biting it so hard, trying not to laugh...

 

Morning all. Another 'good ole boy' retires from the University. Equipment operator B, over 33 years with the State. Really gonna miss him. Executive board member of our local for as long as I can recall, he convinced me to become active in a leadership role 11 years ago, here we are today. He was just a wealth of labor knowledge, really gonna miss him. Did I say that already?

 

Ever notice, at our age, that everyone around us are retiring!! Personally I'll end up dead in the freakin place! Head planted firmly on the keyboard!! Damn, now I'm depressed!

There was a time I wanted to be just like dad....He died on his way to work. (literally) He was 88. Had me convinced that retirement was not the way to go out.

I leave here August 5th this year at age 62.

 

There as not been a good track record here at the county, you retire and within a year dead from something!! I'll just keep working!

Next Wednesday I will have 5 years to go until it's my turn. Getting there might be a struggle. Seems like most of our new hires are cut throat, stab you in the back A holes. They do not understand the concept of sticking up for each other. We have a CBA with pay scale and benefit information. We get our steps and raises regardless of our eval. No need to be a turncoat....

I was at another garage yesterday and they have pictures on the wall of the field crews at that facility from 1985.
Out of 100 or so guys in the crew pics, only a small handful left, me included.
Majority retired,dead or both. A few MIA.
