Side-view mirrors causing lights to flicker?

So the other day I noticed that when I'm adjusting the side mirrors using the 4-way hat switch on the door, after every few presses the overhead map and dome lights flicker. This is with the engine running and all overhead lights in the off position. I find it very strange that the mirror circuit should have any influence on the current for the lights circuit, and even more strange that they should flicker while being off.
Does anyone have any insight on this, or at least experiencing the same thing?

Also as a small side question instead of starting a new topic, how many times do your wipers wipe the windshield after squirting the washer? Mine wipe once, but that's only if I hold the stalk down long enough. Usually I don't need a bunch of fluid, so I'll just tap on the stalk to get the slightest bit, but then the wipers won't go. It seems like every other car I've driven had the wipers go on as soon as the squirters were engaged.

    No worries on either question.

Neither problem sounds normal. Any electrical mods? Are you under warranty? I'd ask the dealer.

The washer thing sounds normal to me. I usually do the same, briefly hold in for the wash, wait two seconds, then up for manual wipers.

The mirror sounds like you have a small gremlin. I don't know if you have an intermittent short in the door-ajar circuit that gets pressed when you're fiddling the mirrors, or if it's a less serious quirk around a random wiring harness. Whether its bothersome enough to take it in, that's up to you.

I noticed the same thing a couple of weeks ago. I've been meaning to check the wiring diagram to see how they're connected, but I rarely adjust my mirrors, so it's not a priority for me.

Mine does the same thing. I've never had a wiper system work that way, but I'm used to it now. Generally, when I need to clean my windshield there is a lot of dirt on it, so I don't mind the extract fluid.

Thanks for the replies guys. Looks like the washer thing is just something to get used to...

No electrical mods besides LEDs. Actually end up at the dealer today for 10k service; they wanted to test it with the stock bulbs but didn't have any laying around, so we just left it at that. I did get some funny looks when I showed it to them though!

Yeah I'm not going to lose sleep over it either, but if you do end up finding anything and get a chance to post, please do! Out of curiosity are you running LEDs or stock bulbs?

LEDs in the map, dome, brake, tail, mirror, and headlights. Might have something to do with it, but I'm not going back to standard bulbs to find out. :D

Agreed...I was thinking the LEDs might be more sensitive to a fluctuation in current and flicker when the stock bulbs wouldn't. But putting the stock bulbs back in would only be a bandaid for the issue anyway.
