I have a meter. As long as the antenna has an adjustment knob on the top, it's easy peasy. I'm currently down and out but I should be better by next weekend.

Borrowing grandmas garage and will have the heaters goin this weekend. Installing the cb, doing some wiring and testing on the 4x4 light up switch (still have yet to see if it works or if I did something wrong), and an oil change. Going to be a good weekend for the taco.

Morning all. Another day sitting in the recliner for me.

 

At least you don't have to go outside, that wind stings today.

 

Working with your hands, creating visible accomplishments VS sitting in a cube on a phone with people screaming at you about stupid minutia that isn't your fault - sounds like a win to me. See if you can transfer over & be the warehouse manager. Closer to home too, right? Winning!

I've told my boss' boss that I would work here, no problem. Right down the road from home. I'm actually going home for lunch for a change!!!!!!!!!

I don't mind doing stuff with my hands... but kinda sucks when it's not my regular job, and the emails will pile up while I'm here.

 

Which brings you back full circle young man - to that staffing conversation that needs to happen.....

I work in warehouses, generally, from 10am to 10pm. Warehouses are cold, loud, dirty, dangerous - people leave you alone in the warehouse. I love it. ....and they know if they're too stupid & start pissing me off, "that's out of stock". Amazing how easy it is to mis-shelve something.

Kinda liking the being alone part... not gonna lie. I'm out here by myself, labeling boxes. Not bad!

 

My Monday-Friday consists of being stuck in a cube and being yelled at by insurance brokers; through phone, email, and any other means they can find..

After college I waited on tables, bartended and was a laborer for a builder; got shit pay; hernia; no benefits.

At least now, I’m using my degree; but being berated constantly sucks, and at the end of the day, I don’t see a tangible product from my work. I do get paid better and get benefits, however. Pros and cons each way.

Still have to get that hernia taken care of... after 6 years. Just don’t like the thought of going under the knife. That’s another story.

 

The 6 year wait was worth it. Now we know that mesh stuff isn't magic & Dr.s pay more attention to what it's doing. Sometime waiting is better.

 

DANG MAN! Work BS aside, you better get that hernia taken care of ASAP.

 

Yea, I know. Doctor diagnosed it in 2012. My wife and I started dating around that time and she freaked out when she saw it. I explained what it was, but she made me go to the doctor to confirm it wasn’t anything more serious; dr confirmed still just a hernia; this was in 2014. She’s been on my case ever since.

Not the smartest move but I’m trying to tell her I’ll get the surgery if she approves the lift kit. I’ll probably get it taken care of this year, I’m just a pus when it comes to anything surgery...

I was warehouse manager for Stew Leonards in Newington.
My boss killed himself so i said i would cover the shipping and receiving and total operation of the warehouse until the uppers figured out what they were going to do to backfill the position.
I worked with great People so it was easy on to transition from Team leader to Assistant Manager to Manager, this took place in a 6 month time frame.

Couple of reasons, to protect my fellow co workers, as the previous Mgt kept files on everyone because he was a prick. First thing i did was access his computer and deleated every file. I informed everyone what i did and if the had any beefs with the previous manager their gone. Everyone who was now working for me was starting with a clean slate.

Immediately removed a lot of pressure from the work place.
So yes the warehouse is a great place to work, people don't bother you because they don't really understand to total operation.
You can usually make changes to make it flow better, more $$$$$ most times more perks.

I wanted to leave there because my wifes health wasn't good, we were able to work things out an i ended up staying 2 more years with a lot more $$$$.
Just another way to move up the corp ladder if thats a direction you want to persuade

Yes! Do it sooner than later, otherwise it's going to suck alot more.
And I love getting surgery, it's probably the only time where I actually get to take a break!

 

Shit, for time off, might schedule it sooner than later. Valid point right here.

I had a hernia repaired last year.
Didnt know it was a hernia, i thought it wad old age.
Had it fixed at the VA in west haven. In and out same day's
I was out walking around the next day ,no pain .
The hardest part was the glue wareing off, itched a little.
That was for an Ingunial Hernia repair .
Now the Umbilical Hernia repair is another story . Two weeks bed rest then two weeks light duty ,no lifting etc.

My advice GET IT REPAIRED. NOW.
That way it will make for a better summer.
You know, Tacoma stuff.

Got backed into by a girl not paying attention today in a parking lot. Fingers crossed that my insurance will cover the cost of a HC rear bumper from Bruteforce. Bumper definitely bent and crimped the rear quarter a little. No injuries

Judging by all the previous damage to the rear of her escape she has not learned any lessons
