    Drifter....ARRIVED!
You sound more responsible than we are (we don't put our pups in a kennel when traveling or harness them in). That said, the only reason we got a double cab is so that the dogs would have the entire back seat area to hang with us when we are driving. We would never put or leave them in the truck bed when moving. Above, I was thinking of when we are camped for a night. We are fresh air hounds all around so airflow is important, even if it's relatively cool. Our pups are also part of our family - they are our only kids. We sold our vanagon because one couldn't handle the heat, bought a Taco and now are on the road to a Drifter. Who says boys (aka Boston Terrier Mikey) aren't more trouble? :)

I could spend all day on this forum. Nothing makes me chuckle more. Hopefully you guys are able to make it up for a trip. I know Phil was talking about it after one of the rallies. Be awesome to come up and even just take the forestry roads around and see some of BC. VanIsle is a great spot, or somewhere around the Kootenays. All depends on fires.

probably bought it all from TAD and never leaves his apt so he can be tacticool.

All kidding aside, I love their pants and jackets, have been all over the world with a couple of them and they have lasted. Sadly they are so damn popular now you can't even buy anything as it sells out in mins once restocked.

    Thanks!

The bench I am on is the width to accommodate most camp pads if you need to sleep one down there. if you need more or additional storage the floor panel pulls out and locks into place covering the galley way to create a full platform across the bed, wall to wall :D

There is also a smaller floor piece that can be locked into place near the front to allow you to pull half the bed cushion down for ultimate chillin, similar idea to what @Iggy and @Overlanerd have done with the Goose Gear design. We call it "couch mode" lol

    Check out the build
I actually have a TAD one I picked up at their SF store. They have little skulls instead of checkers. And yes I know how to use one!

Definitely the best option to prevent corrosion. Im just not sure it's worth $1100. Black powder coat would look real good on my black truck though.

Utah here as well. No powder coat on mine - wasn't an option at the time, though for the price, I probably would have skipped it anyway. I'm not one that's super concerned with looks, so the decision would have been made purely with regard to corrosion.

Having said that, I haven't noticed any yet, but the heavy salt days have been limited so far this winter. I also try to run through the car wash fairly often when the salt is bad, but I'm sure that water is full of salt, itself...

I'll probably stick to my current strategy through this winter, just to see if anything more is necessary.

Do you have any pics of the various config options? I am planning to do something similar. Did you use a birch plywood?

I'm heading down South to escape the rain late February. Going to explore South of Ely, NV over to the North rim of the Grand Canyon. Any advice on slot canyons, desert wildflower blooms, or any other 'must see' favorite stops?

Amazing! Any pics of this or even better, general specs? I'm about to pull the trigger on a Drifter but I'm a family of 4 and need to sleep the kids downstair and optimize chill mode. P.S. - Ignore my Instagram comment. Took me a second to realize you were the same person on IG and TW. Thanks again!
