While southern Maine is practically Canada anyways, you've never suffered the agony of purchasing from the lower 48 and shipping it to Canada. 300 USD equals 398 CDN, plus shipping duties and taxes (our liberal socialist government loves them taxes, then runs massive debts all to the line of "the budget will balance itself". Seriously, they have taxed and spent a massive deficit with no idea on how to solve it. Even with raising taxes!!).

So if we can save a buck (or .72cents after deductions from our pay cheques) trust me. We will look for a deal.

I know that feeling. Tried to order a number of things from overseas / even Canada a few times over the years and its always a pita. Also, not sure Canada can beat my super duper awesome govt when it comes to deficits. Tho mine is currently shut down.. does that mean theres no debt anymore

well you guys do have ten times the population lol so, I'm thinking you guys still have that debt. Though, Trump does make for amusing viewing when you don't have to worry about his leadership. Just wish the US media would stop saying how great Trudeau is. UGH Being a centrist these days suck. Why can't we have fiscally responsible leadership that also can balance the needs of the populace?

ok back on topic before the mods come a swinging! :)

Hmmm, I'm not sure you'll get to the 500 you're looking for. Maybe I should do like the other company does, and price them at $550, then I can run a sale price of $300!! How does that sound?

Besides, when sales are good already because we made them and priced them right, we most likely won't be doing any sale on them.

    Incoming dumbass question:

You can take these through the carwash right? Do you guys ever worry about it getting damaged or snapped off? Or am I a heathen for not washing my truck myself? :anonymous:

It's not recommended to take it thru a carwash, unless it's a touchless one. That big rolling brush thing that goes up the windshield and over your roof could damage or break the air ram.

The snorkel itself is really tough and wouldn't have a problem with it, but I know one guy who broke the grille from his air ram in a "full contact" carwash.

Okay thanks, that is exactly the part of the carwash I was worried about. :(

On a related note, does this mean that on the new 2019 TRD Pros that come with snorkels they would advise you not to take it through a conventional carwash?

It's very likely that they would suggest to not use mechanical car washes.

I've been to carwashes before, and with a roller fairlead and winch hook hanging out the front bumper, they said not to enter, so I never did. There's a 4runner guy who wrote a post a while back where his truck destroyed a car wash, it got caught in his roof rack or something and I think he had to pay to fix the car wash.... Been a while since I read that though.

Just got around to installing mine, and thought I'd add comments:
    - shout out for the service to Canada... it came quick and the back and forth emails were appreciated
    - the template was off by quite a bit on the rear bottom stud... as much as 3/4 inch. Just elongated the hole instead of just drilling bigger in all dimensions
    - I did not go to 16 mm on the holes... I just slowly drilled larger until it fit
    - the front bolt was a PITA to get the nut on... turned out to be the worst part of the job. Getting the tube into the fender was not bad, but make sure you pull it through as it should extend about an inch plus into the engine bay for everything else to line up
    - the angle of the windshield bracket did not match the a pillar well so I adjusted until it was better aligned using a vice and forcing it open so it sat more flat against the pillar
    - I used 3M tape to attach to the a pillar. I didn't want to drill the pillar so I thought I would try it, and seems plenty strong. I can always drill later if it doesn't work, but I can pretty well grab the top of the snorkel and shake the truck... so hopefully lol
    - overall pretty happy with install
    - and for the controversial part... it does feel a bit more responsive on the throttle. I put the stock air box on and took the AFE system out, and it seems to breath better (anyone wanna buy an AFE CAI haha). I have not been much of a believer that it would produce any changes, so perhaps it's my imagination, but I'll take it anyway lol. Mileage test pending - hope is high but expectations are for no change

Hope that helps someone with their install. Final thoughts from a cold Canadian - it gets in the way when you have to scrape the frost off your windshield, and you need a larger frost blocker to get past the snorkel (if you live in the snow, you'll understand haha)

Should have added - I got the 250 USD price, would have paid $300. For Canadians interested cost about $30 import fees - not bad I thought. Can't recall my shipping costs but USPS wasn't bad (don't like UPS)

About $450 moose bucks by the time it was all in. Was so much better when dollars were at par (insert political commentary here). The decision was easy when I priced out another snorkel at 4 wheel parts - many moose bucks. I needed (errrr wanted) the snorkel for plans in Baja this year for the silt/dust, so the timing was right.

Gotta say, Mike- thank you for offering a great product and service!!

Install went pretty easy and straight forward - though the template was about 1/2 lower but really, it doesn't matter since you don't want these things too fitted. The fitment of the rubber connector was dead on, in-terms of tolerances. Total time was about 2 - 3 hours for the whole install and the quality of the plastic definitely exceeded my expectations!

I was going to go the Ebay route but I didn't like how restrictive the intermediate rubber connectors were and this was a nice compromise between ebay and the higher end snorkels ( which IMHO, is the same as the Dobinson )

The only thing I didn't do or yet have to do was secure the intake to my A-pillar, I feel its pretty darn strong but then again, I don't wheel in areas where there's a lot of woods ( being in CA, there's just more desert. )
