You know Doug is over 60 (like me), so maybe cut him a little slack given all the years of Tacoma World posting (and tax paying) he has given us?

Members paid Doug $400 for rebuilt leaf springs and never shipped anything to them. Two members out $400 each. I banned Doug's @4WD account after multiple attempts to contact him failed. He then made the @ectrd account and managed to stay below the radar until now.

Of course not... I had not read any of this stuff you mentioned. I just saw Doug's name being brought up (out-of-the-blue) and without context... Thanks for adding some of the context. How about a link to the original exchanges?
    Thank you!

OK, not sure the best place to share this, so for starters this is for the Ocotillo Wells Off Road/ Borrego Desert Tacoma folks...

This is a short video about the 1940s bombing range west of the Salton Sea, south of Ocotillo Wells Park, and next to the Superstition Hills.

I'm not sure how to integrate it nicely. I think an idea was to weld it to the bottom of the back part and then put two horizontal tube support bars plus some plate gussets. What about this..

Round tube so it slides off drops easier.

ok so if you do round tube, i suggest going above and below the hitch tube, you can buy premade hitch tubes at various lengths. id say shoot for 9-12 inches... gives you lateral support structure to weld to. here is a pic to give you an idea.

basically, top and bottom tubes support the tongue weight and then like your pic with drawing on it. you want to support tubes from the end of the hitch receiver tube to go to the frame or something similar for lateral side to side support. i added guessets for extra caution and a place to hook cables/chains. You can see the lat support tubes in the pic the go from the corners of the frame to the end of the hitch tube to form triangles (strongest shape you can use for this)
