You definitely get used to it. It takes me all of 3 seconds to do it now, longer if the gas prices fluctuate a lot between fill ups.

Wish the SG could do that, if I do a partial fill up I will just remember how much I put in and add it to the next full fill up so the SG is still reading it "correctly"

 

Installed one of these on my trans cooler line.

Finished up my scooter lift. ( I'm an Amputee)

If my clutch is on its way out should I wait until I replace it to drain & fill the trans?

yeah because you're going to have to drain/fill it anyway when you do the clutch.

It does make the transmission a little lighter if you drain it, but you definitely don’t have to drain it to change the clutch.

 

True, I've never done my clutch myself but every time a shop has they always drain/fill it but I assumed it was just to make it easier to work with.

 

I really don't want to to be honest, but I really don't want to pay for labor... Plus timing belt is coming up too and It always scared the shit out me. Might pay for that one. idk..

 

Sounds like you need to take it to a shop like mine that won't talk you into things you don't need.

 

haha I feel your pain. I might tackle the clutch next time, from what I gather it's all just nuts and bolts...just a pain and time consuming to deal with dropping the trans and reinstalling it. Plus you should have a shop resurface your flywheel or just put a new one in.

Labor is what makes a clutch job cost so much. You don't even want to know what Toyota charged me for it a few years ago, because I was dumb enough to take my truck to them. Parts are just a few hundred bucks but labor makes it costly.
