Definitely got that crimper and the wirefly heat shrink weatherproof connectors, heat gun and decent shrink tubing. I've been practicing on garbage wire and the difference in the dedicated crimper vs the old hardware store wire tool is night and day.

With regards to the Baja S2s, how would you recommend actually extending the wires? I was planning on clipping them about a foot from the harness, adding butt splices with weatherproof connectors and shrink tubing so I don't have to mess with the harness. <-- and obviously on only one side.

Man, I just got mine installed and i LOVE it! I took my sweet time on the wiring and it was definitely worth it cause it is super clean. I followed @KTJO 4x4 build for the most part as she was a huge help. I also used this guy as a reference HERE.

@Gunshot-6A is 100% right on getting you some WeatherPack crimpers and connectors. This SP9100 gets rid of all the extra BS wiring that comes on a wiring harness. Such as the relay and the inline fuse. You can pretty much cut all that off of your harness to perfect link and wire a Weatherpack on. Also get some double lined 3-1 adhesive lined heat shrink tube. This will make your finished project night and day.

I also just installed the KC cyclone Kit. I bought the lights only and made my own harness with 14ga wire that was marine grade and insulated. Wrapped that in flex braid sleeve and wire loom. I bought a push button toggle switch and mounted it to my powertrays panel. Pic below.

    I did : #8 terminals -- WP (F) \\ WP (M) ------------------WP (M) \\ WP (F) -- light as a connector pigtail \\ wire run \\ load

I don't know where you are gonna put yours, but mine are for camp lights off the sides of my prinsu so I had to make a pretty long wire run to the back of the cab then up the back, and towards the middle of the rack.

Whoa everything looks VERY clean. Well done!

Interesting placement on those Cyclones as well. Mind sharing the logic? It obviously looks like it's shedding the right amount of light in the right places, and seems like it would blind you barely at all. Any regrets on this placement?

Also @Parker315 this is little but becoming a PITA. What are the exact specifications on the mounting screws you used for the fuse block, terminal block, and bus bar to the tray? I've been back and forth to the hardware store and keep forgetting to bring the damn equipment.

Whoops! ^ IGnore the above. KTJOs install is gloriously detailed.

I don't regret it at all and honestly, IMO, there is no better place. In this location, they don't blind you at all which was my main logic for placing them there. It spreads the light perfectly and I can see EVERYTHING.

On the hardware...Shit, I don't remember what size I went with. I am sorry... man that will bug me now lol

I know that my Terminal block and Bus bar were the same sizes, but my fuse block was smaller. I used K-Lock nuts for all of them as that's what came with the SP9100 also.

Dang, wish this was posted last week/I saw this before I connected all my butt splices. Are these really that much better? I may cut them and reattach these if so. Thanks for the tips

absolutely better. At the very least, much more weatherproof and disconnectable.

I'd love to get a setup like this but im completely electrical-ignorant. I'm sure I'd fry everything.

Honestly, I think a setup like this is WAY easier and safer for electronically timid people than relays where you have to make sure the spades are connected to the right stuff, etc.

Essentially just plug the switchpro to your battery, attach your accessories, mount switch plate and you're good to go!

Man, maybe I should start doing this as a service? Charge people to wire up there SwichPro where all you have to do it connect the light, tape into the fuse box with the ignition and trigger wires, and run the switch panel wire through the firewall. I actually enjoy doing this stuff a lot. I make my own wire harnesses and solder all my connections.

Curious, what would someone be willing to pay to ship the unit to me and to have the wiring made to plug and play and instructions sent with materials to tap into the fuse box? Is there a market for this type of thing?

I second this. Much simpler and cleaner installation. Plus it’s isolated so you can easily disconnect if you are having some issue

I think you might have a small niche of people who would be interested for sure. I'd love to actually learn it so that later on down the line I could add to it. I'm just not great at stuff like this. I can add a switch here or there but this seems like a lot to tackle to the untrained eye.

If you can add a switch, you can definitely do this. Really the only difference is this handles the hard work so all you gotta do is connect a few wires

I've done electrical work like this for a few people. I really enjoy doing switchpro setups like most of us have here with the blue sea connectors, etc. SO easy to setup and to make look good. I have a compulsion to make things have clean installs.

Well managed server rooms are basically my ideal state:

Take a look at this. I did use this as a guide since I had never seen a switch pro or wired one before.

Question on the @powertray. I've been looking for a few weeks now and the 3rd Gen Switch-Pro tray for the Sports have been unavailable. Is there a difference in the engine bay of the Sport and Off-Road that would change placement of the power tray?

@Mr.PowerTrays can you shed some light on this? Thanks!

I didn't think so at first, but the OffRoad one definitely would not fit my truck. The one i got fits like a glove and that wider section for the larger fuse block would not have fit i don't think. A better question for PowerTrays though, just to be sure.
