Good budget front suspension to level my Tacoma?

I would like to lift the front end of the truck to level it out. I’ve seen a lot of nice Bilstein 5100 and OME lifts on the front on the third notch or so, and they seem to sit well.

Does anyone here just run a front suspension lift?

 

Are you referring to just replacing the front shocks or only adjusting the front height? 5100s are considerably stiffer than the stock OR shocks so swapping out just the fronts could adversely affect handling. It's ~$350 to get both front and rear 5100s (~$150 extra for rears) and you'll need an alignment even if you don't touch the rears.

A bunch of guys on here (myself included) are running slight lifts in front with 5100s with 5100s of 5160s at stock height in back with minimal to no complaints.

 

Another option is to run a leveling spacer in the front. I have seen a few different companies make them. You would be looking for a .75" or 1" spacer. It is a cheap option if you're just looking to level your truck.

I personally would always run a suspension lift over a spacer. I just wanted to voice another option.

 

I’m interested in replacing the shocks with something different. I just wanted the truck to sit level and give myself a few inches so my truck didn’t look like it was wearing clown shoes if I put on 285s.

Good to know the 5100s will do the trick though. That’s super cheap. How’s the ride? Any complaints when you’re not driving on pavement?

 

I considered spacers but I value the longevity of my truck too much and didn’t want to risk busting something up.

FWIW Ill be going the 5100 route with OME 885 springs in the front to bring it up 2 inches or so. The back will stay at stock height with 5100s.

 

Cheapest would be the front spacer, wouldn't affect ride as it is minimal at an inch or less.

 

Yep, I did a minimal Pro Comp front 2.25 spacer level. But will be replacing with a suspension lift in the future, so I'm watching these threads for future reference!

 

5100s front and rear, set on the 2nd to the top notch, stock coils and a one inch block in the rear and mine rides better than the stock sport suspension. I have no complaints, and I don't see where people think it rides harsher than other springs. I'm on stock uca and the allignment is all within factory specs. Did the front diff drop and rear carrier bearing drop, no issues. Added some TRD pro Sema wheels and tires, 265/70/17 SL Toyo open country at2. Do a ecgs clamshell bushing and 1/4 shim for the lean.

 

I added ome 884 coils (found used for $80) and front 5100s. I haven’t touched the rear end, all stock. Lifted about an inch or so. Would be real similar to stock coils with 5100s on 3rd notch.

 

$81 worth of spacers under mine and still rides like stock.

 

I was gonna go OME coil. I forget if it is #884 or 885 I’m looking to level the front and just replace the rear shocks. I want a progressive vs digressive.
