A week into owning my truck and 3 days before my ceramic coating and PPF install a f**king rock chip on the hood already and no hwy/gravel road driving. This paint sucks.

Funny thing... my friend that has a new $120K Range Rover said the same thing about his SUV lol. If you want to assign blame, at least blame the right people. Those people are ourselves. We voted for the people who decided it would be a good idea to go to water based paint so it would not hurt anything and then we bitch because that paint is nowhere near as durable as the old school paint. We can't have it both ways lol.
But, if you want to blame Toyota then knock yourself out.

Once upon a time we had good, hard, thick paint. They decided it was bad for the environment. Now everyone who sells vehicles in the US uses the same paint. It's water based instead of petroleum based. It is thinner. It chips easier. It's the same paint as on my buddy's Rover. We voted for the people who changed this spec. Our fault.

Not yet, but of course no Toyota dealers have cement touch up in stock and about to move to the rust belt. Trying to get truck somewhat protected but feels like I’m just throwing away money at this point might as well just let it chip and skip even coating / protecting the damn thing.

Took my wife’s 4Runner took a rock chip on the way back (6miles) from the dealer. Front left part of hood. I asked them to include a bottle of touch up paint for a reason lol

Are all car brands assholes with warranties? Nissan takes care of our vehicles on their dime. Haven't had a warranty issue with Toyota.

Exactly, sucks I’m more ticked that the touch up paint I ordered when I bought it still isn’t here yet and no dealers stock cement paint? Are you kidding me.

Yep and now I have to reschedule my coating / Xpel since I don’t have the paint to fix the chip.

Ceramic coating a cement truck is a waste of money.

I bought the Ding Shield so will see what happens when I get a chip. Southeast Toyota also puts a thin clear coating if you purchase with the truck.
