Damn you KO2s

One of my buddies works for the samsclub I bought the tires from and he said bring it in and he'll try balancing them for me and if he can't he will warranty them for me!

 

I was in the same boat as you bud. I could NOT get my vibrations to go away. I had my KO2's balanced a half dozen times from multiple shops. I had my alignment redone as well. Nothing helped. The only thing that fixed it was getting different tires. Best of luck.

 

i would try getting the roadforce balanced if you haven’t yet. i had
severe issues...roadforcing them fixed it. still smooth as glass.
if that doesn’t work- your tires are probably warped from bad storage, or a bad belt.

 

My suggestion is to read reviews on everything including tires before you buy,pretty simple thought.

 

So whats the problem with KO2’s i’ve been using them for year and zero issues. Are they the greatest no, but they do everything well.

 

I guess simple people have simple thoughts. Thanks though.

 

I'm pretty sure they Road forced them originally.

 

I ran LT265/70R18 KO2s for about 10,000 miles and they wore down extremely fast and there were chunks of polyester missing from the sidewall when I swapped them for the Exo Grapplers. They went from 18/32nd's tread depth to between 8-5/32nd thickness and didn't really have great traction on wet roads and were not exceptional off-road either. A garbage tire that I'm not interested in running again...

 

SAME here - going to try Toyo OC AT2's next. 4th rebalance in 30,000kms and 90% hwy.... disappointing!

 

I think quality control of a lot of tires has something to be desired. In the past 10 years I have always replaced my Tacoma tires within a 2-3 weeks of purchasing new, with Michelin LT LTX's. And I'll be damned out of every set(5) there was one that would never balance and made the truck pull a little. Is it too much to ask to get 4 out of 4 good ones. Geez.

 

I've had the least issue with Michelin LTXs surprisingly. I have had a set on my Tacoma before it became a wheeling rig and I currently have a set on my Land Cruiser. Thats a good tire. But the immense weight of the cruiser probably helps cause I'd never know if one was a a tiny bit out of whack.

 

Wow. Was looking forward to swap out my stock Open Country tires for KO2s but now not so much. Ummmmm.

 

So sometimes people will come to TW to get what it’s touted to provide,, useful information. If a person is able to just dismiss a jackass, kudos to them because I’m not. Unfortunately jackasses and assholes pop up on damn near every feed on this forum and ruin it. I’ll get blocked or kicked off TW for my opinion, I’ll never know because this is the last time I’ll be here, and that’s sad only because mother fuckers like you get to keep spewing your stupid shit, I only hope you see this before it’s deleted.
I don’t know if this will help you or not, but your comment just discounted every legitimate thing that anyone had to say, good or bad, to the point that this feed is worthless.

I agree with what you said. The post you have responded to here I did not even see. Dr. EB spouted something inconsequential so I did not notice it. How ironic that someone with so much to say has nothing of value to speak about.

I guess I got a good set, I have had good luck with my Ko2s so far, they have around 16 000 miles and no issues.
Would be willing to try another tire as well but 3 ply sidewalls and the three peak mountain symbol are my requirements for a tire, and as far as I know the Ko2 is the only tire that has both.

 

I dismissed his sarcasm with my ow sarcasm .. what are you trying to say?

 

No blue dot or punch on rims. What is the purpose of those two things you mentioned? Are those points of reference for mechanics?
