    Hello -

This is from my 2017 manual, not sure if it changed for 2019:
    upload_2019-1-11_15-27-41.jpg

Coming from automotive engineering (valvetrain/engine mostly) and working with some people that are way smarter than me...the break-in period is really for bearing (engine, drivetrain, etc.). There are some great reads out there about breaking in an engine, breaking in brakes, etc.

My opinion, for the first few hundred miles or even up to 1500ish no WOT accelerations, no hard braking, no engine breaking (down shifting), no cruising for long periods of time at constant speeds, no heavy loading. And when I say "no", I really mean to try to limit these occurrences, then do an oil change. For my other vehicle (more performance oriented) there is a 'strict' break in procedure and I followed that one very closely. Just my opinion and thoughts.

No idea what it said for my 2014, but the first week I had it I loaded 1000lbs of pellets in the bed and towed the remaining 3000lb behind me on a trailer for about 30 miles. That truck never burned a drop of oil or gave me any problems. I agree with break-in to some extent, but it's probably CYA more than anything else. The truck had almost 500 miles on it that first week.

I like how it says to avoid driving at extremely high speeds for the first 1000 miles. After that, have at it. :burnrubber:

    I like it!

I had another car that said:
    - Keep below 100mph for the first 1200 miles
    - Only short runs up to 150+mph (for passing) until 3500 miles

At about 1000 miles I drained the oil.... put in Dino 5-30 whatever was in the cabinet before I started buying bulk Triax synthetic off Ebay and I threw in a magnetic drain plug like I do all my rigs.
I will run it for a couple thousand. I have never heard of breaking in a green engine with Syn oil.

Well gents.... I see we’re still on course to star base 1.05, steady has we go!
Crystals look in good shape but engineering is complaining on a ADM situation in the lower engine room.
Weekly ck in from Star Base... as you where....

I actually tried to do a lot of engine-braking. I believe this helps with ring-sealing later on.
