That shouldn't require too much. I did the same on mine. Ran it through the passenger fender where the Factory antenna grommet is. Ran it behind the glove box, and under the door sill trim on passenger side. You can transition from under the door sill, to under the floor and come out under the seat where the airbag wiring comes thru

Since he pushed you into the car in front of you, was that considered your fault or his?

Kinda depends. It would be okay to use it on and off with the power knob if you could remember to turn it off. Otherwise you may end up with a dead battery. Also something to be aware of is that you could potentially have some parasitic drain on your battery if you go the hard wired route using your amp's power source. If you use a keyed power source, you can turn the accessory on and be able to use it without the truck running, but still not have to worry about accidentally leaving it on and it running down your battery

The only way to have it do this is to use a fuse tap (or some other keyed power source) to have it turn on when the key is on. I can show you what you need and how it works if you want tomorrow

Hope they treat you right man! I've heard great things about USAA, so I don't think you have anything to worry about

Good to know, I've always wondered how that worked. Glad they didn't nail you with that.

@taco_gonzo The main thing with insurance is to be patient and don't take the first offer they give you if they try to total it out. You should also be able to select where your truck gets repaired if they go that route. Im sure you already knew this, but figured it was worth a shot to tell you in case you weren't aware
