I’m new to this site and new to the truck mod thing. I know this has been discussed in previous discussions but I don’t know enough about this stuff to jump right in...

I have a new 09 Tacoma TRD Sport and 3 days after I rolled it off the lot decided to put the “leveling kit” on. Looks okay, drives like crap. I put 285/70/R17 on they fit great.

Now after driving it for almost an entire year I feel like the back end sags a little, especially when accelerating. I was thinking of an AAL to help with the rear. However, I keep reading about how good the Bilstein 5100 look and perform. Can anyone help me get my truck looking good!

I want it to sit up 2.5"-3", sit level and ride better than the front end spacers set up I have now. Will the Bilstein 5100 up front fix this? What do I do to the rear to sit level?

Any pics of this set up on a similar truck?

Thanks for all the help and sorry to write a novel.

    T

    Thanks w4lter! Good looking truck.

Is that all you have done is installed the 5100 up front and the 2" AAL in the rear to achieve that look and ride quality? It’s hard to tell. I ’m guessing the my 285 would sit it up a touch higher?

Also, whats the best place to get the Bilstein 5100 setup? How much am I looking at?

My brother in-law is a car mechanic so hopefully I could convince him to help me out so I can save on installation charges...a case of beer ought to do it!

I also got mine from downsouth. You're not going to find them any cheaper - it's an awesome price. That's all I have done suspension wise. I am even on stock wheels. Your 285s should fit, I have a good amount of room between the tire and ucas. I think I paid about 250 for the bilsteins. If you're brother in law is a mechanic it should be cake to install.
