    After having my diff skid and seeing where I regularly hit it, I think this will be adequate. The rest of the axle is pretty beefy as it is, it's the back cover that is the weak point. That's where I'd worry about coming down on a rock and puncturing it. This should cover that, and I'll gain my clearance back. It's only like 1/2" but that's equal to jumping in tire size 1".

    I also found another company that makes a full 1/4" thick replacement for the rear (you cut the back off of the stock housing) but I don't like that as much.

    What about the drain plug though? I jacked that flange up on mine and it was a pita to change drain the fluid...





    Until the gear pieces came out. Then it drained itself
