So....My CEO caught me in the parking lot and commented on my sweater.(thin blue line) Her BF DPD so they had to rush here last night after that incident. I gave my condolences to the dept that her bf works in. She then said how a woman of 22 years of age should not have been doing that job........i fired back without hesitation and told her, "your a successful lady, why does it matter how old you are and what field you choose? She went thru the same training as men do." she back peddled...it really aggravated me that she would say that. So soon? Right after she was shot? A block away!!! Im fucken heated

That's a very poor mindset to have (the woman).

If one can withstand going through the entire academy, meeting all requirement set forth - I can not see any reason why she shouldn't be in that position. A 22 year old man would have nary better chance at surviving the some wounds inflected on that woman. As someone who has several family members (male & female) in law enforcement. I'm happy you said something.
    RIP Officer Corona.

I told her, maybe the credit union should send the dept flowers (we are Yolo Federal CU, started serving the yolo county sheriffs dept way back when. and we expanded) she said "yea, let your supervisor know" bitch! you are the CEO!!! handle it! your BF works for them! handle it!!! I was appalled. I took flowers this morning on my behalf. I'm not sure why I am so surprised by humans. nobody gives a fuck anymore

That's heavy. It's pretty unfortunate having someone with that mindset in such a position. I work for a mortgage company up in Redding, CA and everyone in my office was talking about donating or sending something down there, GM included. You'd think a CEO (especially one with a husband that works at the PD) would show some more sympathy.

You are a good man. I’m glad you you said something. Officer Corona should absolutely have done this job and she chose this line of work from the heart.

Thank you! I was going to post a very similar reply the minute I read hunting was related to Starbucks. It was apparent he has no clue. Ignorance at its best.

Wifey has a 2012 Audi A4. Before that she had a 2004 Audi A4. The current Audi has been a little problematic and she is done with it. Wants a little SUV. Thinking Subaru Outback or Aucra RDX. Only because she thinks they look nice. Any other suggestions?

We already have the Tacoma. Need to sway her to something more economical, and practical. I'm already covering the impractical side of the house.

Person I work for just bought a new Subaru Outback Limited. It seems pretty nice to me, though I haven't driven it, just rode along for a coupe test drives. Plus Subarus seem to have a good reputation for reliability.

My mom used to have an Audi A4, might have been 08 or 10 I can't remember, but the thing was a POS. I hated driving it so much I don't know how Audi is so revered. The radio would turn on every time you started it, every single time, and it would even randomly turn back on by itself after you turned it off. It also would burn through a full quart of oil every month and service just said it was normal, until finally one day they got it through their heads that it wasn't.

My mom also still has a 2005 Mercedes SL500 that has been a gigantic mess most of its life, also including shit service experiences. The clear coat on the paint started peeling after like 2-3 years, lol.

The 2012 4 is a beautiful car. Great performance from the 4 cyl turbo. Handles and rides great. But, like the last one we had, it has electrical problems. Senors. The first one was O2 sensors. This one is oil level sensors. Some of these new German cars do not have dip sticks. And the 2012 already has a terrible rattle in the dash. Only 75,000 miles. And, in March, the water pump failed. One thousand dollars to replace. Two days ago, it failed again. The work was under warranty by our mechanic, but it's a pain in the ass to have to get it in and out of the shop. Very disappointed. So, She wants to sit up higher in traffic. She really likes driving the Taco. Great view. Not sure the Sabaru will give much more than the Audi.

It definitely won't compare to the height of a tacoma or most SUVs, but the Subarus do have a bit of a taller and more upright sitting position than traditional sedans. And I think the Outback has something like 8" of ground clearance.

Bit boring but we really like our 15 highlander. Drives super smooth, enough power and good space.

Also my brother got a Lexus NX for a loaner and it was a cool little SUV. Smaller than the RX and seemed more sporty.

Wife is on her second Ford Edge. First one was a 2009, current one is a 2014 AWD Limited. No issues, drives great. There is a Lincoln equivalent if she prefers the styling. Or burn me at the stake for recommending a Ford. :D
