True.. if you really truly need them yeah, but still...so many upgrade tires when the old are still good for $1k give or take. And in my case thats a recurring expense every 1.5 years with how much they wear.

Tire prices are stupid, agreed.

 

Yeah i think next go around I'm going to go with an off brand or less common brand for half the cost and see how they fare comparatively in the same relatively short timeframe. If I can save several hundred then...awesome

Okey, was just curious why you wouldn’t goto a MT on a wheeling rig. But that makes sense, i see where you are coming from.

 

Same except I got the St maxx for a flippin grand ugh. On the plus side, they seem to be taking a beating better than the KO2s did previously. They don't chunk up nearly as bad.

 

Except that one you tore open...

 

I really enjoyed my maxxs also, gottem for 500$ from a friend too.

Brand new and studded, was perfect

 

Yeah well...lol. That seems to have been a freak occurrence. Believe me after that I was super paranoid about these tires especially going off on really remote trails, but since then I've had zero issues and done at least a dozen harder trails than the fire road that tore that one open. Just the wrong spot at the wrong time

 

My lesser known tires have been awesome.

My maxxs impressed me. My old ko1s sucked....

 

Yeah i admit the last time I changed my tires the KO2s had plenty of life left, which is why I sold them to Tyler lol. Though they were pretty beaten up except for the spare. But I mainly just wanted to go up to skinny 33s

 

Yeah the KO1s were crap compared to the KO2s although I know some would argue that. But despite their chunking they were always a good tire for me traction wise. I am liking the Maxx's even better though

 

As Long as I never have a tire that does this again I’ll be happy

 

Found the MC leaking on the Z, guess I'm not putting the trans in tonight, gonna finish cleaning this up. Literally wiped the paint right off the frame member.



At least I caught it early, if I let this go it would have rusted away below that.
