Saturday (7/10/10) I was driving down a street in the left lane following a black sedan going about 38 mph. I was keeping my eyes on the sedan when out of the corner of my eye I see a white male sprinting full speed from across the street directly into my path. I locked up the brakes and laid on the horn and swerved right hoping that he would see me and stop but he kept running and I hit the crap out of him with the grill and bumper. After I skidded to a stop, I was completely shocked and frozen and was still blowing the horn. The dude picked himself up and walked to the passenger side of my truck and then jogged away. He never looked at me before or after I hit him. I pulled off the road and called the cops. The dude was definatly drunk and/or high on crack. I couldn't believe that shit really happened. I got a police report and got the damage estimated today. Estimated $856.

    Observe and discuss:
    Hood/grill/bumper gaps on driver side
    [IMG]
grill pushed under hood on driver side
    [IMG]
fender pushed away from hood and bumper flared out
    [IMG]
radiator support and tie bar are bent. also notice the missing bumper clips

    cracked grill bracket

That's alot of money for what looks like very minor damage? How fast were you going right when you collided with his body?

I was with some of my friends goin to the Brooks and Dunn concert in downtown Dallas and. We missed our exit so when we went to make a u turn under the highway as we are going around the corner a homeless black guy ran out in front of us. His eyes were like yellow as a lemon...not gonna lie our first thought was "do I hit 'em?!" I thought we was gonna try and jump in the bed...

It doesn't look like too much damage in the pictures, but it is. I had to look under the hood a couple times to finally see all the damage. One of the grill supports is cracked, atleast one bumper bracket is bent, and the radiator support and tie bar are bent. The bumper is warped and flared out on the driver side and the driver side headlight and grill are pulled under the hood almost an inch.

I don't know what it is, but there's a LOT of people that love walking in the street around here. Wierd...

I think I was going about 15 mph when I hit him. I know its going to cost a nice chunk to get it fixed but I need to go see the body shop myself and go over the damage with them. My dad took it by Gainee auto body here in Charlotte while I was at work today and there estimate printout is not descriptive enough.

The crackhead is lucky he didn't get hit by a truck with an actual metal bumper! Take the 800 bucks and buy a real bumper!

Thats the first thing I thought when I finally calmed down. I would but most of the $800 needs to be used for a new radiator support and grill.

I got rear ended about a year ago, and I had Toyota of North Charlotte do mine. Those guys were real fast and honest man. I would suggest taking it up there. The guy sat down with me and went of part by part wheat was being replaced, why it was ect.
