So, as I move through the mods I am doing on my Taco, I turning my attention to the headlights. They're fine, but I wish they were a bit brighter. Thinking about changing out the bulbs.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a brighter bulb choice?

    Thanks in advance.

H9 mod. Running them in low and high beams. There's a thread about 3rd gen lightning. I used a harness from Amazon and trimmed it instead of the bulbs.

I put a set in our 4runner almost 3 years ago. Not a single problem.
Just put a set in my Taco a few weeks ago and the difference is amazing. Best upgrade you can do.

Look in the TW Lighting forum. There's a lot of great threads regarding lighting upgrades for your Tacoma
I've upgrades all my forward lights with Morimoto LED. Hi/low and fog. All plug and play and high quality, white color. There's lots of options and price rages in lighting upgrades, you've got to figure what's best for your application.

Did the Hikari Ultra led. Only complaint is when we get wet heavy snow, the led don't heat up the lens correctly, so snow starts to build up. Outside of that, they throw some crazy bright light, same distance as stock halogen, just a much whiter brilliant light as you can see.

I've been thinking of switching my current led for these brands you posted.

Overall, how do you like these?

Completely love them. On my 17 Tacoma I tried the basic Hikari, which were bright, but didn't throw light as far. On my 18, I decided to try the ultra, and a massive difference. 100% recommend these to anyone who is looking into led upgrades. I dumped weeks of reading, videos, and research before ordering as I was pretty set on hids, but, wanted to give these Ultras a shot to see the difference between them and the regular Hikari.

    Nice!

Do you have a link of the recommendation LED's you have? I found an Amazon set, but I'm not sure if it's the same.

Those are the original ones They're bright, but don't throw light very far.

These are the Ultras (Eye of Megatron). Little pricier, but when it comes to headlights, my safety is worth the price. (I got 2 sets, 1 for low ,1 for fog) left the highs as halogen as they compliment each other nicely.

I had the hikari on my 2nd gen taco. They are good led lights, but for my 3rd gen I wanted ones without the cooling fan. Got XenonDepot Xtreme Led Pro. I like the XD over the Hikari.

Any halogens that you guys are running that are white, or whiter than stock? The living room lamp colored bulbs are kind of boring me
