I can't believe somebody would somewhat do the front right and then put blocks in the back as I know that they used this truck for off-roading because after I bought it I was underneath it punching mud out of the frame guess I should have looked over this truck better before I bought it

With having this lift on my truck would it throw any of my angles off as far as drive shaft, control arms or anything else I may not be thinking of would I be okay for the Long haul and reliability or am I going to be replacing u-joints

How many miles on the truck?

    How does it ride?

How do you plan to use the truck?

If you really aren't happy with the lift and want to change it what's the budget?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a small block under your rear springs.Only real negative is that it can add a bit of tortion which may cause/exaggerate axle wrap but a block that small shouldn’t be an issue.

If you don’t need additional support in the back, the blocks are fine. That’s how lift kits were/are done for a long time. The add a leafs are to help with added weight and lift. If you have a camper shell, tent, bed rack and any other weight it may be beneficial. Do you tow or haul weight often? If not, you’re good to go. If you want the aal, there are quite a few options. The stock rear suspension is decent for the occasional tow or haul. Here’s a pic with a 400 pound 4 wheeler and other crap in the bed while towing the side by side. It did fine with it although it was definitely sagging.

Do you feel any vibrations while driving? That would be an indication the driveline angles are wrong. Any uneven tire wear? Have you taken the truck in for an alignment to see if theres any issues? Stock control arms are usually good for up to 2 inches of lift.

When viewed from the front do the front wheels look like this \--/ pointing inward causing outer wear or like this |--|, more parallel to each other and sitting more perpendicular to the road surface?

.A rear lift block will not change the rear spring rate.

Yes. As with any lift they will be off from stock. As stated above, if you aren’t having vibrations, you may want to leave it alone. You’d be surprised how many are chasing down vibrations after lifting. As to your long term reliability question, that one I’m not too sure of.

I was letting him know the spacers that people on here say are bad are front spacers and not rear blocks. From my gathering he was thinking a rear block was a “spacer lift”. I agree with you, that rear lift blocks are fine. Have ran many, just not on this truck.

Have 39000 miles, rides pretty smooth I can't feel any kind of vibrations, also the alignment is straight.so rear spacer would be ok even with a little off roading?can say I love Tacoma world for this advice as I don't know where else to turn

Then it may be one of those, I’d leave good enough alone situations. Is there a sticker on the front coils? OME coils have a sticker on them that may or may not still be on there. What front struts are they? Is there any brand listed? Maybe the previous owner did better than you think?

Yellow would be the stock OR Bilstein shock.

I'm curious what shocks you have on the rear and if they have enough travel with the addition of the rear block.

I had a rear block on my 2017, and had 0 issues with it. Had it in the sand pits, up and down some trails, mudding, out hunting on some atv trails that had a bunch of good size rocks I needed to crawl over (raising the pucker factor to a good 7-8 due to a new truck rolling over some good size rocks) never once had an issue with the blocks . If no vibrations, or anything odd, I'd say they are fine. If you eventually want to change it, get an aal, but the blocks should be perfectly fine for ya.

Kit I'm currently looking at has blocks. Would prefer the aal, but oh well.... https://www.dobinsonsdirect.com/pro...16-2018-light-load-front-and-quick-ride-rear/

Starting to looked pretty rusted if I buy rear shocks is it as easy as just removing top and bottom bolts pull out old shock and replace with new as I'm not real mechanically inclined but nothing cost cheap as far as labor these days, would I need to jack anything up?
