Blower motor chirp

    so I’m at my breaking point on my blower motor. On settings 1,2 the chirping is so loud its easily louder than the radio unless it’s set to like 40:rant:. I remember reading that there’s two blower motors kicking around, the shit one (mine) and a redesigned one. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the new one ?

    Im not too familiar with the blower motor situation but i do know that theres multiple threads in this 2nd gen forum. Maybe do an advanced search for "blower motor"...its bound to bring up something on the issue.

    They were super common on your model, most dealers carry them in stock. Very easy to change, 30 mins tops for an absolute rookie.

    Rock Auto has them for 50$ I strongly suggest a new pollen/cabin filter during this process.

    How do I know if it’s the flawed one or the redesigned one though ? I’ve had mine out before and attempted to adjust/ fix it but no go lol. I don’t want to spend 50 bucks for the same issue again if it’s the flawed one

    I'm not 100% sure but I believe that AC Delco was OEM back then and it's why there was such a high rate of failure. Any other brand may have better results.

    I don't remember man, quite a bit being up in Canada lol I got a genuine Toyota one, I want to say I paid like 250 for it but that's a guess, but I ended up with 2 hahaha it got delivered and signed for but not by me and I never got it so they shipped me a new one, 2 weeks after I got the new one, it showed up on my door step. good part is now I have a back up if it starts to chirp again lol

    Hmm i dont think i want to spend 250 on it.... Maybe i'll do a complete tear down of the thing next weekend and figure out a way to fix it lol

    that's 250 cnd keep in mind so for you that's like 50 bucks hahahaha

    its already been done and its a temp fix but I can dig up the thread I will see if I can find it

    Can't help but wonder if neglecting the cabin filter creates this problem as well as the inherently bad design of the original blower.

    I have a feeling its more the design then anything else. I know most guys on here are pretty religious about maintenance on their trucks, cabin air filter included and still end up with the chirping
