I just ordered some as well on ebay. We're priced at $30 US and they accepted my offer at $27.

Shipping says about a week and a half though.

Your profile lists a "1991 tacoma 4x4," but you're posting in the 2nd Gen. Tacomas (2005-2015) forum. In what truck do you plan to install these?

Assuming your install will be in a 2001 or later Tacoma (not a '95-'00 Tacoma or pre-'95 Pickup), you're placing too much faith in compatibility lists that sellers (not manufacturers) provide. 2001 and later Tacomas call for 921 bulbs in the reverse sockets, while earlier generations require 1156 bulbs. There's always some risk of compatibility issues when modifying your vehicle and/or its accessories, but almost any (incandescent or LED) bulb of the proper size/shape (i.e., 1156 or 921, as appropriate) should work. Buying one that's worked for owners of comparable vehicles mitigates the risk, which you can take to almost zero if you shop vendors with friendly return policies.

Did anyone put electical tape on the connection? Should I? I was about to lay down for bed and saw I was going to rain this weekend, and I didnt know if water or moisture gets up in there and if I should wrap.

Do you have a link for the ones you run? Couldn't find anything for an Amazon "HIR auto lights 912" search.

I actually thought these came with the quick connect, it looks like it's there in some of the pictures. If it's not, I may have to cancel my order.

Okay good, I'm glad I didn't get the wrong ones! I have a feeling it does because of the pictures and the description says universal connection fitting multiple types.

Yeah, kind'f confusing. By all the pictures, the bulb has a little 3" jump wire, to connect to the orig wiring harness. Why wouldn't the harness plug straight to the new LED light? I guess they will work, but personally I wish it connected exactly like the OEM

You can see all the info in the thread below. They are available on amazon, they are GY6.35 IR bulbs not 921s, but looks like the 3rd party seller jacked up the price. Others have linked other places to purchase in the thread, you might comment over there.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/gy6-35-hir-921-reverse-light-upgrade-vs-high-power-leds.474996/

The Philips version is 3 Euros out of Amazons UK site. If you have an amazon account you have access to all their sites.

Received mine in the mail this afternoon. Very fast shipping. Took me all of 10 minutes to install. Took some pull to remove the taillight. Great easy mode. Nice bright light.

@crashnburn80 do you have a part number? Your opinion goes a long way in my book and I am in total agreement about the extended back up scenario.
Personally, I'd like to have a set up similar to the Anytime Fog Upgrade which would include a set of these https://www.superbrightleds.com/mor...fog-light-3-square-25w-1700-lumens/3541/7535/ installed flush in a rear plate bumper along with an upgraded LED in the OEM tail light assembly...both connected to the reverse switch. Last, I'd like an auxiliary switch that will turn on both mentioned lights regarless of the position of the gear selector. This would be a sweet set up for off road, hooking up trailers, camping ect giving you ample light at your 6 o'clock position just like headlights.
