2010 tacos recomendations

hey guys i'm looking into buying a 2010 taco the problem is I am stuck between the TRD 4x4 and 2wd. I am not big on off-roading new vehicles i have an old chevy for that however it is fun to go out to the desert. So I'm kinda leaning towards the 2wd TRD-off road.

Another thing is the Ipod interface is only available for the SR5 model, so I was wondering if it would be worth it to get that package and go from there?

 

if you're leaning towards a trd package, the sr5 package is already on the truck.

get a 4wd, you might just regret it if you don't.

 

thanks i suppose that would make more sense if i planned on getting bigger tires too. so then is it really worth it to go trd 4x4 or just sr5 4x4

Trd off road is much worth it. You get the rear locking diff and the atrac system on the 09 and 10s

 

All depends on what you want the truck for I got the Met. Grey 2010 TRD 4x4 Off Road and I think my truck is the coolest on the planet. You get more bells and whistles with the TRD like more comfortable seats and A-TRAC/ Locker or Auto LSD with the sport but they will raise your sticker price quick.

 

Yeah definately true so then I'm only left with one problem, its not gonna kill me but an ipod interface that works with the stereo is something i am looking for and it isn't available with the trd because the truck has xm, so should i just try going to a third party?

 

I went with a 2WD Double Cab SR5 V6. I do not go off road and couldn't justify the extra cost. I picked up my Taco this past April for 23k.

 

I just got a 2010 4x4 Access Cab, base model, 2.7 Love it. Great Price.

 

i guess the simplest thing to do is just to get one of each...

 

the TRD will have better seats, temp gauge, better shocks, locker, a track.

if you dont need any of that stuff just get the SR5 and save some cash.

 

I have a 2010 Prerunner (4x2) and I don't regret not getting the 4x4. I really don't need it. I had 4x4 Ranger previously and didn't use the four wheel drive much. I'd go with the Sport or the Off Road if you can.

 

Go with the TRD 4x4, if you are even questioning this you should just go with the 4-wheel drive. You'll feel better in the long run.

What's the big deal about an ipod interface? I don't see why the trd option wouldn't allow for it. You could just use the aux jack for your ipod....

I went with a 2010 TRD Off Road SR5 package, access cab after lots of research. Love it!!!!! Yeah it cost more, but I can afford it & my girls like it enough to pose with it in her bikini. Win win for me!!!

 

That would depend on what you use your truck for. 4x4 is needed in Chicago and I tow my sleds to WI and MI so those are reasons for me to have a 4x4. You may not always need a 4x4 but there will come a time when you WILL need it, guaranteed! You also need to figure what you can afford. While the difference in price between the SR5 and Sport isn't very much, you will get quite a bit more for the money. As far as the TRD Off-Road, again if you're not doing serious off-roading the locking diff isn't worth the extra $.

 

The Taco won't be new forever...at some point it'll be old enough that you won't fear the trail scars...then you'll wish you had gone 4x4...
