while you guys are having QC issues with the 5160 I’ll just comment my shop recommended against using them unless an actual need was found over the 5100.

Too many RMA and warranty jobs on the 5160. Even his buddy at Bilstein service department recommended against it. I stuck with 5100 for my pavement pounder and am happy thus far.

I didn’t have any. I bought 5100s. They pair just fine with the 6112.

maybe consider these? Check out the reviews, cheaper than the bilstein reservoir mounts and the pictures show it works with the 5160s

Yessir. Did you do #3 on your Tacoma? That 1/4" could be attributed to the added weight of DC over AC maybe?

Mine didnt settle at all when I had them on and wheeled them for about 7 months. My rear was stiff but I think they did the job. Felt like I had traction most of the time and were able to handle high speeds. A great upgrade for sure

    Question:

Since 6112s for the Gen 3 Tacoma’s are on national back order, is there any disadvantage to running 6112s for a Gen 2 on a 2019 Tacoma?

I’ve searched and searched and the only differences I can come up with is that the newer 6112s have an extra spring perch setting for the stock level and that the Gen 2 6112s are suppose to have an 1/8” longer travel. Valving is supposed to similar or the same? Can anyone confirm this? And, if I used the gen 2 6112s, should I stagger the perch settings like the gen 3s or use a spacer to accommodate for the lean?

My goal is to raise my truck 1.5-2” in the front, 1.5” in the rear and run 265/75/16s. I was thinking of accomplishing this with the 6112/5160 combo and the 1.5-2” Icon 3 leaf pack in the rear. I was hoping to use the stock UCAs and not change much else?

    Any advise apreciated!

Check out racing consulting agency they should have them in stock for the 3rd gens. 591.99 last time I checked. The website is safe to buy from. People on TW have bought from there and other car enthusiests buy a lot of parts from them.

As far as using the 2nd gen 6112 on a 3rd gen, you can as some members have, but I have no idea what settings you need. Bilstein Warranty is forfeighted if you use that on your 3rd gen.

I always suggest changing out the UCAs, Buy the cheapest around that will give you the correct alignment. It truely does make a ride difference, as I been there done that. Try to save the extra 300-400 bucks if possible.

    Good luck.

Thank you! Took your advice and ordered both the 6122s (47-234413) and the 5160s from Race Consulting Agency. Hopefully they are in stock. Guess I will find out next week...

I am considering Camburg UCAs and not sure on rear leaf situation...

    Again, thanks for your help!

Do the UCAs at the same time. For my truck, it made it all that much better than stock. No idea what numbers I ended up with but so much less tracking on road grooves, etc.

I understand people who spacer lift going hyper cheap and putting them off. But once you break a $1k budget for upgrades you’re really missing out and limiting you experience.

I was told similar regarding the backorder when I was shopping early December. Literally everyone I asked for a quote mentioned they had limited stock and were having issues re-upping their inventory.

If you can find them, grab ‘em

    Supply and demand

Name another brand that offers a 60mm piston for our Tacoma that can he bought for 600-800 bucks. Only 60mm piston on the market is high end coilovers which is double or triple the price depending on configuration. Good setup if you ain’t tryna break the bank.

Small update, after having my set on for a while, along with the winch bumper and winch, plus other armor. My front had dropped down quite a bit. So I replaced the springs with Eibach 700# springs. The fronts back up now.

Was that with the springs that came with the 6112 or was that from 650 to 700?
