It’s not really overkill, in fact I find it to be quite slow really...It takes a couple minutes to fill up a 33” from 15psi to 35psi. Maybe I’m just inpatient though.

I keep mine in the bag behind the driver seat.

I keep mine in my back seat for portability reasons. If it's attached to the truck, your truck has to be adjacent to whatever you're filling up. If I'm filling up a buddies truck, I'd rather just bring the compressor over.

Group trips are connected enough as it is, the last thing people want is to be double wide in the road blocking traffic outside of a trail head.

Also, the case that reenforced this was when we had to drop down to 14 psi on a single track. Once shortly past it we went back up to 22. There was no room to pull a truck up next to the other vehicle to air him up. He didn't have his air compressor. Shit happens. But it's just something to consider.

I like the pigtail idea the most to get the compressor comfortably on thr ground and enough hose to reach all tires with ease.

Maybe for a inrush but not a constant load.

60amp should be minimum 10 gauge

The clamps I cut off I kept and put another Anderson on so I can still bring it to another vehicle and hook up if needed .

Correct. The 12g is sufficient. 60max 30 constant with a factor of safety. Max draw of the 400 is is 30.

Anderson power poles, weatherpack, xt60. They'll all work

The inrush on motors is crazy, very reason we put time delay fuses on most motors.

I've installed 50 amp 600v motors and when fusing had to do the calculation of how much in rush . Fucking upwards of 300amp inrush.

Even when I was installing my fridge ARB said 15amp minimum fuse but I wanted to know run current since to carry 15amp to the back of my truck would've needed 8 gauge because of line loss. They didn't get what I was saying when I was emailing their tech

Correct. Thus the 30amp constant 60 amp surge rating on 12g.
