I've been driving for over 40 years, back in the day you always at least turned off the A/C when you parked to keep the load off the motor etc when starting, but now I leave everything on. Push the start button, put in gear and go! :)

I usually have the hvac off, radio turned way down and the foglights on when I start my truck. I hate getting into a truck and having the radio blasting and the fan going full speed.

Many don’t realize how much strain AC and defrost have on the engine until it’s warmed up. Both use engine power to run.

I have everything turned off before starting the engine. Maybe it's just habit that's hard to stop.

I used to do that in the 1970's. Haven't worried about it since.

You people do know that all vehicle in the last 2 decade at least, most thing turn OFF when the key goes to the start position.
there made to give power to start the vehicle ,
    Google it if you want.
NOW if its below zero outside i used to turn off any high load stuff , so if the car would not start the first time i had a better chance.
the truck has relays to cut the power to most things...
my kid has a new car and i saw him doing it so i made him look everything up and he now doesn't do it anymore..

Yeah, I have been driving almost 40 years (39) and I don’t bother on newer cars. My ‘81 Fiat Spider; I make sure the headlights are off, but I don’t worry about the radio. It doesn’t have A/C.

Not me. I can't even get into the habit of shutting off the truck before opening up my door. The chime will be the end of me.

Yes, shutting everything down is beneficial on multiple levels, although there are many variables that also play in there. The main benefit will be extended battery life. Spend some time searching the web and one will find plenty of info.
