That's true. Hopefully the weather stays nice. Though I think I could make room in the garage if it snows at least.

    Will order a pump.

Zane @Speedytech7 - how is Monte's situation different than yours with the Taco? Yours would fail to start "when it was warm," right? I know that's not exactly what Monte's seeing, but could it be the same issue? Wasn't yours a worn wire, and the ECU issue?

Yeah my alternator mount bracket at through my crank sensor harness. I suppose it's possible. But mine would start and run a bit before crapping out from the messy signal cause by a short to positive.

Montes sounds exactly like a classic fuel pump failure

Yeah and mine ran 100% fine before it died. And even ran today. 3 times. Also totally fine for a while.

It was acting to me more like a fuel issue as i originally thought it was electrical but poured over that stuff pretty extensively.

Granted i guess technically it is still electrically related..ha

Oh yeah, 4runner pumps actually legit suck to do. The tank is awkward shaped and hard to reach the connections on and you ha e to drop it. The cruiser design is nice, they give you an access plate in the floor so you don't have to try and drop a 26 gallon tank

this seems odd as it was never an issue I've ever read about..It was an OEM radiator for certain?

Oh for the 4runner right. Yeah idk. I mean sometimes those pumps last a long time. Hard to say really. Mine still works I think its just not always getting juice. Which could just be a bad connector or something. Either way i'll slap a 340 in in the faint hopes I'll turbo it someday..

That's how pumps go out, some of the commutator bars get dirty and when it stops on a dirty one it cant restart. That's why I suggested jarring it to make connection on a good bar to get going.

thats a good deal. Wonder which turbo though.

It isn't really that much cheaper. Not in the long run. Still need the fuel mods and control stuff. Its still a 3-5k project to do right.

    that BS.

PSI is not how you measure how a motor will handle boost. 6psi out of turbo X isn't the same as 6psi out of turbo Y or out of the TRD blower.

Think about it. 6psi is stock boost on a blower and its WELL known that most taco motors ping with just that.

Plus 6psi is baby shit anyways. If you want that kind of boost just get a blower. 10-12 for a turbo = 300-340rwhp from out trucks. Thats the reason to do a turbo.

Also. I would not run a turbo on any of our offroad trucks. Much to delicate for what we do. The blower is perfect for that as its fun go fast stuff but also VERY reliable. Turbos..not so much.

Id just turbo the DD because its more or less a street queen and I'd love the extra zip to pass people on the small highway i drive everyday. Which really I wouldn't need much more zip to do that. Already scoots much faster than my other tacomas.
