    We like turtles a lot! I saved this dinosaur on the way to work one day. It was in the middle of the road so I stopped traffic and picked it up and moved it to the side.

    Apparently the ground temp was above 32....wind chill/actual temps, etc...above 32. No ice. Rain to quit and temps to drop.

    Or not.

    Between all the local weather guessers, between 20 and 50 degrees, rain and dry, sunny and clouds....

    No salt. Ky doesn't put it down until it's too late in most cases anyway. I grew up in Indiana. They were always better at dealing with snow/ice.

    Main road in to work is an elevated roadway. Wind and "near freezing temps" have been known to make it slick.

    Our grounds crew uses a product that is harmless to plant life. It actually works too. Hidden cost over horticultural damage eliminated is carpet. The stuff tracks in FAR worse than old fashioned rock salt. Ruins carpet....(stains and fiber damage)
