anyone know of a fix, replacement, etc? to fix the utterly horrid image from the rearview camera at night? I feel it is more of a safety concern than an aid.. as I understand it is a 6v camera.. where most others are a 12v camera.. anyone know of a work around?

Remember when we had to use our mirrors and actually turn around in our seats to reverse? :goingcrazy:

Maybe the back center window should contain a backup camera HUD... bam, mic drop!

If it's hard to see at night, you have a defective camera.

Replace the OEM camera with a high end Night Vision camera .just doing this gets rid of the grainy video input !!

I drove my gf's mom Infiniti qx and the backup camera image was dog shit compared to the tacoma. I dont think the image quality of our backup camera isn't bad.

Not that it means anything, but I also had a buddy that drives a Chevy, he said also that my camera was way better then his.

Try wiping the camera off with your finger. I find that mine collects a decent amount of debris on the lens, but after clearing it always looks much better

I like mine, I think the image is fine, Day or night. In its tailgate location it does get dirty or blurry when wet.

The Camera in my ‘15 Silverado was much better, IMO.

But, the Tacoma camera is much better than the one in my wife’s Acura.

    :notsure:

I find my picture quality to get better at night when I use the brake lights in conjunction with the back up lights. Some color helps it. I also find the picture to be much better than my wife's 17 Rav4.

My wife’s Outback camera is way better. But I have no issues with the Tacoma camera.
