I just saw he is at the GFC shop and was wondering the same thing. It looks like they are finishing up a camper for him right now.

I actually did not end up trimming mine. I have about an inch of space between the bottom edge of the GFC overhand and my Prinsu rack. I flexed the truck a few different ways and took measurements, and found that the gap never closed more than ~1/2", so decided not to trim it.

I'm not saying this will be the case for everyone, but it was for mine. If you're running kbvoodoo bed rail caps, for instance, it will be very close and I'd be worried about the rack and GFC making contact.

I don't know the details, I just saw the post on Instagram of Wiley's truck with the darker fabric and thought it looked good.

Awesome dude. I appreciate the input. You’re the second person that has informed me that I shouldn’t need to or that they didn’t have issues. (both being access cab owners) I doubt it’s much different with mine being a double cab.
    No KB bed rails here.
I guess I’m going to leave it and if it doesn’t work when I get there I’m sure GFC will let be borrow a portable bandsaw for a minute, haha.

EDIT: Actully it was you that told me in a PM about this. Still waiting on those other measurements.

Has anyone removed their camper from the truck? Was wondering what is the best or easiest way. I could probably have access to a hoist or forklift and could round up as many bodies as needed. Wish I had paid more attention to how GFC attached the camper to their hoist when I had it installed at their shop.

When we put mine on at the shop we had the sides and back opened up so we could lift from the frame and put it up and over the back of the truck. With four people it wasn’t bad. They didn’t have the forklift or hoist set up yet.

Thanks for replies, sounds like 4 people would be the easiest. I just remembered I took some pics of install which shows how the used the hoist.

If you get a chance, could you post some pictures of your side door? Does it roll up and attach like the rear door? I think it will be a good addition to my camper, I just haven't seen many detailed photos.

Looks like a rigging course should be entertained to level out the load..

Well in defense of he who shall remain nameless, I think it was by design. And he was a professional rigger in the past.

Welcome to the wait! It's about a year or so. From looking at your questions you haven't read this whole topic or the gfc website but don't worry you'll have plenty of time now.

Shipping fee is waived if you drive to pick it up.

They send you samples right before you go into production and that’s when you finalize your options. I think that’s around 8 weeks out.

How many do you need? I’m at 4800 followers, and I told GFC I could pick it up this weekend, but they decided to finish #126 and 127 instead of mine at 125.:notsure:

Actually Jasons was #147 and they finished his this weekend. Dave from AEV isn’t on the list and can’t find forge either. So however many those accounts have. I’m still waiting on mine. I’m #60 originally but pushed to #74. Paid in full March 3rd 2018. To be fair mine was delivered with wrong paint mid November but turn around for the screw up on their side is at 2 months now and counting.
