Anyone else experiencing 1st to 2nd 'dragging' the truck? Isn't very smooth and noticeably moves passengers forwards then backwards.

Also if you give it additional gas as it tries to change into 2nd the engine revs up and you don't get moving any faster until the change takes place.

I feel like I've already talked about the 1>2 change.. and if people don't like it or their trucks don't clunk they can have it changed via ticket and custom tuning.

No alternative files, custom tuning, etc will be released until after we finish, release, and get feedback, solve any issues, bugs, etc with the MT Trucks.

The 1>2 shift is not an "issue" it is by design setup to stop the bucking and clunk when coming to a stop from the 2>1 downshift.

Really because I get more emails from people who thoroughly enjoy 1.05 on their truck vs the people who have legitimate ISSUES vs "I don't like how it does this"

How are all the legacy dongle guys getting 1.05? Are you just emailing support@ovtune.zendesk.com and asking for it? The blog doesn't have a link yet for the files and Flash Manager 1.09R doesn't have anything.

From the limited highway driving I've done on 1.05 (second version I think?) it seems to be great. Yesterday I had the cruise set at 80mph, going against the wind, and the truck didn't shift down to 4th! That makes me very happy. It shifts smoothly between 5th and 6th with the cruise set. Still need to put on more highway miles, but so far highway driving feels great. Still trying different things to see how to make city driving better.

First of all thanks for your service and sacrifice, glad you are back home.

Second, development has continued with subsequent release's with each being better than the previous.Mat cracked the code to the ECU this past fall and has completely re-written the tables for ignition, fuel valve timing ect..
A good portion of the A/T guys have the newest version (1.05) and most are happy, there were several that reported issues early with idle that have since been addressed.
We are currently waiting on the final touches to 1.05/flash manager for mass release. Mat has been working diligently to polish up any glitches in the tune and a reboot of the flash manager since the latest windows update threw a wrench in the previous version.
At this time no files for 1.05 M/T have been released other than a test version for a few limited users that have the dongle version of the tune, this was prior to Mat cracking the ECU code, the new 1.05 M/T will be a brand new tune for all M/T users..

Awesome, thanks everyone! Looking forward to testing out the updates for freeway driving. This was my biggest gripe of the truck, so if that's actually solved, I'll be super excited! Need to drive a bit to recharge the battery before re-tuning, then will test out 1.05!!!

REPORT BACK - i spent the the entire day driving on 1.05 87 (with 91 octane in my tank), I went thru at least a dozen engine off/on starts, about 60 miles, nothing but stop & go city driving and a lot of 45-50mph stretches. Again, keeping in mind I am a light-foot driver, here is what i found that made me flash back to 1.05 91, and I know i should give it more time to 'settle in' but just couldn't take it anymore. Two very distinct things on my truck that flashing to 87 caused; (1) while stopped in D, the idle very subtly 'pulsated' between 600 and 500rpm, at every light and every stop sign. Very subtle, but could see it on the tach and enough to vibrate the truck just a little when it went down to 500rpm, i could feel it in my seat, made my dongle feel weird. On 1.05 91, when stopped in D, it holds 600rpm exactly and is so smooth I can't even tell the engine is running. (2) here's the kicker, first gear lasted too long before shifting into 2nd gear, yes first gear, even with my foot barely on the accelerator, and i mean barely, like 1/64th of an inch depressed, and this is on flat roads with zero incline, it held too long, sorry i should have observed the actual rpm, but seemed like 1,500 - 2,000rpm maybe? This is 100% a fact and not subjective, i know this because I am a light-foot, used to coming in and out of our neighborhood very quietly, and couldn't do that because the engine was racing to shift into 2nd. Anyway, I flashed back to 1.05 91 at the end of day, took it out and was very pleased that both of these things were completely gone. Bizarre as hell, fun to experiment, but i will stick with 1.05 91 (for my kind of grandma driving), and plan to watch football today, drink beer and celebrate my "new" truck. Cheers all!

I ask this because there is a difference between issue and preference.
Driving different, different shift points, etc are not ISSUES.

Your truck and your posts are a perfect example. Your truck responds and shifts wildly different than most others (so far, everyone else). You're aware of this. But you openly post about 1.05 "issues" that are totally unrelated to anyone except your truck for that simple fact your truck requires special attention. You also seem to have more issues and opinion about it, openly, than anyone.

Then, from posts like that I get people that go out of their way trying to find or reproduce said "issue." That doesn't exist on their truck.

It's an unwinnable battle with some of you guys, honestly. Several of you KNOW the modifications you have means the tune you currently have NEEDS modification, and you're only on the BASE version of 1.05 but you guys openly discuss "ISSUES" with a tune that does not suit your trucks specific needs, thus creating the idea that everyone's truck has these same issues.

I just don't get it. Honest to God I don't understand it. I tell people "your specific mods require that the tune be modified, and this version is the " BASE" and instead of understanding that you guys shot gun blast your opinion of "issues" on a tune not setup for your truck, when you know it's not setup for your trucks specific needs.

How many times have I posted trucks with gears needs the tune changed, bigger tires, heavier weight, lifts?

Does anything I say, convey, explain or post even matter?

I don't like the way it shifts from 3rd to 4th. Got it. That's not an issue, it's preference. Then there are posts of "issues" that the truck doesn't use 4th as much. Pretty sure I said many times it was the only way to fix it from excessively using 4th on the highway, but instead it's now another issue I've got to look into, because someone here said it's an issue.

For people who have gears, bigger tires/wheels/weight... I am listening. I didn't buy a set of gears for anything except one purpose: to make a tune for it.

So we get that you regard those as preferences. But where was the survey on preference re: excessively using 4th? Without discussion, how are we to understand what a custom tune might be able to address re: this "preference"? Where is the survey with regard to prioritizing MPG? How many people actually have gears; 4.88 or otherwise?

It seems to me that *especially* prospective customers need to understand that Toyota's design/ECU (by your own statements) makes it impossible for you to address what they (the Tacoma owner) might see as something they dislike. If I understand you, OVTune does not/cannot address the 4th gear dance without making it shift like it does in 1.05. Shifting that many do not like. Paraphrasing, "It is impossible to reconcile those two (issues/preferences)".

    Got it.

The 04B30 2019 AT tune was completed and made available, but I'm not sure about 04B31 or other new ECU ID's.
