Only one option... Park where you are at night and back up once the sun comes up.

I changed out the reverse light bulbs with LEDs, seemed to help, although I didn't think it was that bad to start with.

Have you changed your license plate light or tail lights to LED? (Although reverse lights to led shouldn’t make it worse). That will fuck with the backup camera big time. Mine is perfect at night, far better than any other stock vehicle camera I’ve used. If it’s that bad you probably have a problem and placing another camera in the same spot might not help.

I noticed mine is crap at night as well. Helps to clean it often but I've given up on it ever being as good as the wife's Subaru or my last VW.

All cameras will be grainy in low light situations. But you should take a picture of your image at night so others can tell you if there is something off with yours.

Go into the settings on the radio. Apps/display. There is some settings for brightness/contrast. Try playing with those settings.

It's suprisingly effective. If this weren't a camera on the back of a pickup truck I might suggest otherwise.

You are right when it is dirty to clean it, but the lens cover on it is soft plastic and scratches easily. I’d never use my finger to clean it. Spray water on it to bump off mud, grit and dry salt, then use a soft clean cloth or lens fiber to clean it.

There are settings for the camera if you haven't looked in the settings yet. Camera is decent compared to my Lexus.

It’s like watching a standard definition TV after watching HD for years. Not exactly impressive but better than nothing.

did this.. it looks fine during the daytime, but at nights it looks extremely grainy, obviously most cameras dont do well at night (I work in a maximum security facility control room). I know what camera's can, and wont do.. love the pathetic meme type idiocy..

yes I do look behind me, but I also like to back into parking spaces, and the camera is helpful to tell where the rear end is. in relation to the wall/building/vehicle behind me. the image is just shitty at night..

I work 0600hrs-1820hrs and sometimes I go in even earlier, meaning I dont see sunlight much up here in the northern state of Maine were sunrise is nearly 7:20am, and sunset is 4pm.. for a good 4-5 months out of the year...

I have cleaned my camera on many occasions, I keep a towel in the cab just for this. and I wear glasses, so I have a lens cloth with me.

Mine is really terrible, as well. I truly hate it at night. When I compare it with the night images on my wife's Grand Cherokee camera, it's almost like we're looking at two vastly different eras in camera technology. Hers is always crisp and clear as day, while mine looks like a washed-out grainy mess. (Her guidelines also curve in a very helpful manner when you turn the steering wheel, but the lack of that feature is another gripe altogether).

After messing with the image and cleaning the lens as much as possible, I'm pretty well convinced that the issue has more to do with the intense output from the license plate lighting than any problems with the camera itself. Those bright lights effectively wash out the entire lower portion of the camera image, and there's no way to turn them off without turning off your headlight altogether.

I have no idea what I can legally do to deflect/reduce/eliminate the lights next to the license plate, but that's about the only fix I can think of. If I could do something about those while also upgrading the output from the reverse lights, I think the nighttime image would improve dramatically.
