@jn2399 , if drilling is required... @hacklerjason is your guy! His drill bits are crazy sharp and cut through with ease.

    Maui, Hi
Looking for recommendations on the best/reliable 2 inch lift that will stand up to the salt air. Been reading about rust issues with fox and icon. Am I best going with a leveling kit? Thanks in advance

ADS they have an anti corrosive coating that seems to hold up well in the salt.

Thanks. Someone else recommended them also. Know anyone in the states that brings them in? Or is ordering from headstrong my best bet?

:annoyed:You are hereby all warned and given notice..

When installing a rivnut, after using whatever device you are using to install it, make sure you use a bolt and a larger washer(s)/peice of metal to make sure the rivnut is well seated and secure.

Last thing you want is to reinstall something like.. ..say a skid plate, only to find out that the rivnut is spinning, then waste another 1-2 hours taking everything apart, cutting the bolt, grinding off the rivnut, then doing the steps above.

Not me.. have a friend.. :anonymous::annoyed:

Anchors are no mans friend. Last month On our jobsite some of my coworkers were hanging 1000 pound transformers in the electric rooms and one of the anchors gave way. Luckily no one got hurt.

When you say leveling lift, typically you won't find icon or fox in that category. Couple Grand price difference

You want to know the easy way? Pound it inward.... Pulling sets it and if you hit it hard enough you can either knock it through or push deep enough to cut the flange off the rivnut with a drill bit. I work with rivnuts all the time for snorkels and roof racks. I have had your problem before, but it's nothing to write home about

Looking for a 2" lift. Would go coilover/shock setup but worried about rust issues and reliability. Question is, is there a setup that holds up better to the salt air here or is a leveling kit my best bet. ADS sounds like the way to go but open to opinions.

ADS, King, and Icon are your best bet. Fox will rust. You can look up differences in the first three in how they’re valves work, but they’re the three to focus on for getting a deal on if you’re wanting to rip your pro suspension off.

That’s still a lot of money for a 2” lift.

There are a lot of different ways to prevent suspension corrosion if you’re really worried about it. Cerakote and ceramic coatings are common solutions. If you’re really worried about surface rust...you shouldn’t have bought a Toyota
