    Just curious,

why do you have limiting straps on the rear axle with a Dakar pack?

Why not do the Billy 8112’s in the front (better than those fox IMO, may even be cheaper)

Fox is not balls out. You have to spend huge coin to get equal quality as King, ADS or those 8112’s. Compare the components and finishing

We are just now starting on front suspension and still have to mount and balance the 33s

    Whole lotta stuff
The reason they are called "racing shocks" is because they are built with the performance scene in mind. If you off-road heavily, your suspension components including shocks can wear very quickly sometimes only after 10-15k miles. So for race teams in the baja 1000 and enthusiasts, it is much more cost effective to rebuild shocks and bypasses than drop another 5k on brand new equipment. That's where the appeal is of 2.5 coilovers and rebuildable systems such as ADS, King, Fox, Icon, Swayaway, ect. It's a bigass performance piston in a 2.5" sleeve that provides great dampening per vehicle weight that can be rebuilt once worn out during application.

I bought my coilovers used and had them rebuilt by a local service, I haven't adjusted the valving at all and I don't have clickers. They dampen the suspension travel nicely for now and I'd rather do most of the fine tuning with a external bypass once the budget permits. Right now all I'm doing is trying to get spring rate correct.

The Fox 2.5 with DSC resis are their better shocks, and the components and finishing are of equal quality to the Kings but maybe not quite ADS. Price is about $2k for the front pair. Fox makes a lot of throwaway $80 shocks (albeit with great branding) so they get a rep.

The reason I want them is because the dual zone compression adjustment is pretty slick, you actually get reasonable control of both ends of the damping curve.

The billies are nice as hell but no adjustments- considering I wanna experiment with sway bars and running no sway and having multiple setups for daily driving vs weekend fun, the ability to work with the damping curves in real time is great.

Experience is credibility. Helping others get to experience the same thing is beyond.

Does ADS offer the first valve adjustment free like King? I am thinking I won’t need the clickers but I also don’t want to shoot myself in the foot not spending the extra $500

I've been looking at these & billies for my 3rd gen. I don't want to go more than an 1" in front and 1/2" in the back. I have stock sized tires but get a little rub believe it or not with my scs Ray10 wheels, but I have some armor underneath and Mobtown sliders. I really want to improve the ride of my truck more than anything while eliminating the rub I currently have. I'm only a weekend wheeler and mostly do trails or washboard roads. What are some thoughts on a setup for this? I've had my truck almost 3 years and just can't find any real info on a set up like this. ADS looks like good stuff though.

Ya, I've been reading about 8112's for the front and 5160's for the rear maybe to save some coin, but not really a whole lot of info on that mismatch :)

Honestly that’s probably the setup I “should have gone”, only problem with the 5160’s is that they have basically stock exstension

I may sell my ADS after first service. Maybe.

I think I owe it to ADS to put these through what I can find.

Ran through the whole install yesterday and everything went pretty smooth. Noticed the difference immediately after leaving the driveway. Going to let the setup settle, make a few adjustments, and then will test it out on some trails in a few weeks. 56901912805__55F61713-6150-49D2-B980-7599622BD038.jpg

Your resi hose seems to bend weird...maybe you put the resi brackets on backwards (see attached) Looks good otherwise.
