Just got this guy yesterday as a thank you from my dad. Savage Mark II FV-SR. I bought a cheap Cabelas scope and had it mounted and bore-sighted today. Planning on shooting it for the first time this weekend. Only thing that's missing is the suppressor which should hopefully be in my hands in a month or so. After that I'll be ready to wreak havoc on some raccoons!

The rifle I posted above the 10/22 is a Savage MK II FV-SR. If you put a wood stock, and metal trigger guard, and mag base, it will seem like a completely different rifle.

    Metal parts...

I thought it was, I really like the way that stock looks. Is it a Boyd's? That seems to be what most people go with. I was looking at all those things last night but I wanted to shoot it some first to see what I think about it.

Yes, it's a Boyds stock. I didn't like all the weird colors Boyd's offers, but found a unfinished one on Numrich, the fit was perfect, just had to lightly sand it before staining it the way I wanted.

I'm not a fan of them either, but I like the dark walnut look of yours though. Unfinished would probably be the best way to go. The metal parts that you linked earlier fit no problem?

How did you finish the wood of your stock?

I assume you stained it, did you oil or varnish it as well? From the photo, it appears to have a nice, matte finish.

I sanded it down some with 800 grit...didn't have to just did. Then stained it with dark walnut Minwax.

Not my only 22 but my favorite. Winchester model 63, made in 1948. Topped with a Redfield scope mount holding A pre WW II Carl Zeiss Jena scope. With the original leather lens covers.
I also have the obligatory Ruger 10-22 and Henry Golden boy.

That's a model 24, maybe 24-D. My first gun was a older version model 24, with the breech opening lever on the side. Nice one you have there.
Some versions were used as "survival" guns by the Air Force, but not many. Kinda 1 offs because of the M4 and M6 versions.

That's a bad ass rifle, and you made it your own. I guess I'm old school... not into the multi colors at all, but I think it would be super bad ass like this!

Still have your aperture sights for the 82g, and would you be willing to part with them?
