@sdsurfer most folks get a 100 amp breaker since the blue sea is rated for 100 Amps. I went that route versus a fuse because if you exceed it you just flip the switch instead of replacing the blown fuse. You can also use it to switch off the panel if needed.

Did you fabricate that bracket yourself or purchase it off someone?

 

Fabricated by ourselves and by that I mean @tacoma16 did all the work lol. But I did use a cardboard template to help

 

I'm trying to figure out how to mount my 2 relays under my power tray. I've got the tray full with a fuse block and circuit breaker. I zip tied the relays under the tray for now but I want a more permanent solution. Unfortunately I don't think I have enough wire left to run them above the tray.

ya man. Here is a layout shot from my build thread. Used a vise to bend it, be careful you get one, MAYBE two bends out of aluminum before its no good. Look up some aluminum bending techniques and you'll be off to the races.

 

I drilled 5 holes and bolted 4 relays underneath then put 2 relays on top on the same bolt. Killed 2 relays with 1 bolt. There is lots of run underneath the panel to house the relays. Especially if you dont need quick access to them.

 

100A. Run #4’s from battery to breaker and then to fuse block.

 

Thanks. I zip tied them to the slots on the driver side (between the bolts). Does anyone know if it's bad for the relays to be zip tied and not bolted? Seems secure but I'm not familiar with the do's and dont's of relay wiring.

 

Thanks Aaron. That’s what I went with.

 

Having them more secure makes it easier to install/remove the prewired plugs or individual spade connectors if you use those instead. Electrically it makes no difference. However, once you have the prewired plugs set up correctly, using those prevents miswiring the relays if you do pull the connections for some reason.
