Pray for recalls. I think they’ve already unloaded an inch of salt on the highway here.

    Maui, Hi
Was leaning towards ADS, King is a bit rich for cruising the malls in my opinion. Luckily I'm on Maui now so couple more spots to crawl around.

Does anyone tear down and cerakote suspension in the islands. I know The Notch does custom setups, but not sure if they're ordering them directly from King that way.

Well aware of Toyotas rust issues. My '17 4runner started rusting in the door jams between the seams last year. Luckily was covered under warranty so it wasn't too terrible. Trying to find a suspension setup that I won't have to babysit like I do Toyotas paint.

My 08 Xrunner luckily survived without any major rust issues until last year when I sold it. Just a lot of sun fade through the thin paint.

The price difference between ADS and King is marginal.

Whatever you get, I’d go future proof and get 700# springs. I have 650# and you can check the preload pics in my build thread.

Do you really need coilovers, or just want coilovers?

Damn. A ‘17 rusting?? What color was it?

    Maui, Hi
    True

Haha, the $2000 question. Mostly want, just want something durable that'll hold up in Hawaii. Other option is 5100s with 887 coils. :frusty:

Super white. Was in the upper door jam of the rear hatch.

Yea.. heard those one step paints don’t last as long as the others.

I would love some bling coilovers, but honestly don’t drive enough or hard to justify the price. And needing to service every so often. Been 3 years with just some OME shocks. I may change one day to something a little softer.

I’m not sure about cerakoting in the islands. That might be something you could coordinate with a vendor before shipping here.

They don’t. Got it ceramic coated so hopefully that helps with the exterior.

Good point. Any reason you went with OME over bilsteins? You have the 90000 or the 90021?

Just to try them out.. and The “outback” that’s why. Lol. Had 5100s and the extended 5100s in my old truck. Wanted to try something different on the 4R. The OMEs seem to be valved stiffer. I should look. I may also look at Dobinson’s when I replace.

Sad day and I've been stubborn too long. It's time that I admit to my wife that there is no way in hell we are going to be able to practically fit 2 toddler booster seats and a new infant seat in the truck. Newest baby won't be here til May, but I'm going to be proactive and start working on getting the Tacoma back to stock in preparation for a probable trade in. I'll post the items in the Oahu Deals and Craigslist thread.

www.cerakotehawaii.com also. He started mostly on gun parts, but I had him do some turbo parts for me and he's now doing automotive parts.

Sorry brother, but understand. Why don’t you try sell the truck as is first and see if you get a decent deal.

I know a guy who sold his Taco (prerunner), got a 4R, and is always looking to get back in to a taco. :anonymous:
