So basically, if you use a relay box, all the +12v can also be tied together from an ignition source. The switch draws very little power, the relay will be supplying the amps to the lights. My only difference is on the rock lights where I use a constant (battery) 12v supply to the switch but still use ignition 12v to it's illumination. Otherwise, it would be lite constantly.

SO, if my power source is the fuse box and not a “key on” source, and I wire it the way you showed, the lights will be on 24/7?

If the fuse box is hot all the time, yes, the illumination will be ON all the time. The output to the lights will only be ON when you toggle the switch.

Gotcha. Would there be a way to make it where they illuminate when only being used ? Like only use the big light. Not the little one?

Or could I run a separate wire for illumination with the key on ? I could jump all the powers together and key on for the lights together

Definitely. In the switch pic above, I believe the bottom right prong is for switch illumination. If you don't hook that up, the other light will still work when the switch is toggled.

Good news! Sister in law is moving in! It’s a big step up, moving out of her parents house and already has a job that will put her degree to use. The little girl is growing up and I’m excited to see the great things she is going to accomplish!
