No. I was seduced by the dark side. She has a '13 Acura RDX (with 24k miles on it) in the garage that she doesn't drive. She's been driving one of the RAV4s.

The '04 is going on the block after I put some stock parts back on and give it some detailing love. The bumpers, wheels, skids, e-locker guard, and shocks are coming off; 5100s, stock skids, bumpers, and my repainted 3rd gen 4Runner Ltd. rims are going on. Probably leave the sliders since they're welded on.

It won't be that long before it gets dirty. One reason I wanted white is because it hides scratches better than other colors.

I can feel my penis pull back up into my body when I drive the '01 RAV4. I must say I don't care for that feeling. The 2010 isn't as emasculating.

I still like the 1st gen. It's been a great truck. I planned on keeping it for a long time, but plans change. I blame my ADD and @sd1uh8as.

Actually, comfort, interior space, fuel economy, and safety were the features I used to talk myself into it.

I need to get as much out of it as I can. Some of the money is earmarked for home improvement projects. That was part of the deal.

You just gotta turn the seat heater up a little to solve that problem. :anonymous:

I'm the second owner. I bought it from my gf a few years ago with about 110k miles on it. It was her commuter. Never really saw dirt until the summer of 2017.
    • ~162k
    • Leer 100XQ and Bedrug
    • Yakima tracks on cab and cap
    • Body is straight except for a small, roughly 1-1/2" dent at the top of the right quarter panel near the tailgate
    • Some "pinstripes" I'm gonna try to buff out
    • Interior is pretty clean: no rips, tears or stains
    • Missing the plastic cover on the side of the driver's seat (planned on ordering one)
    • Needs valve cover gaskets done
    • Some instrument cluster lights are out
    • No mechanical issues
    • 13WG brakes w/Wheelers brakelines
    Haven't determined price yet.

Not enough to have a build thread.
I'd youd like, we can do the valve cover gaskets before you sell it.

I looved my 1st gen too. It was an extra cab sr5 MT. So much fun, planed on keeping that thing forever. Too bad a crashed it :frusty::annoyed::anonymous:

All the tech and safety is pretty nice though. It was a good upgrade for me.

Safety is definitely good. And the seats are comfortable, too. Of course, a tree stump is comfortable compared to 1st gen seats. Not great for my back on long trips .

The tech is nice, but not a big deal for me. None of it is really vital.

I rarely listen to radio of any sort except a commercial-free replay of BBC Radio 1 from Friday nights. I like to listen to music of my choosing and try to avoid being subjected to advertising as much as possible.

The speech recognition failed me last night. It couldn't recognize "BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse" no matter how many times I said it. First time, it thought I said Chili's. How the fuck do you get Chili's out of those four words? It just said it couldn't understand me the other five times. Can't wait to see what else it doesn't understand.

I rarely take or make calls in my vehicle. I knew how many miles I typically got on a tank of fuel, so I could see "miles until empty" using a trip odometer and my fuel gauge. I checked my tire pressures about once a month. Knowing how much fuel you have left and tire pressures are great on the track. But on the street, things like that are just novelties to me.

The graphics are nice to look at. Steering wheel controls are convenient, but really not necessary. All things considered, the tech isn't going to give me anything that I wasn't getting before.

All that tech and still no factory dash cam.

Edit: I do like the pitch and roll.

New Tacomas are part of the family making them part of the home. Suspension is part of a better safety plan while on the road and off. Armor can also be a key player in the families safety especially in areas where there are thick traffic and accidents.
