Soooooo..... I'm up late so i start looking for stuff to add on my truck. I started looking at CB's and they look pretty nifty. So, me and my late night boredom decided to buy a Cobra LTD BT. I'm not really sure how or where i'm going to install this. But it looked like fun and the blue lights match my Alpine Head Unit, so i had to buy ;) Anyways.. Anyone have any advice for where i should install this? What are some good uses for CB's? Does anyone have this radio and wanna give me some tips? Or just anyone shoot me some CB Radio tips.

Thanks Guys XD this is the link of the one i bought

Cbs are great for offroading trips. What are you gonna do for an antenna?

mine is mounted verticaly under the glove box, on the center colomn. Jus make sure you ground it to the frame. I had feedback issues until I done that, the fact I'm running a Rockford punch 500.1 doesn't help any.. I think you would be ok with it there.. my ol' lady doesn't mind it to much... Thats all that really matters... Ol yeah your goin need a pretty good antenna, at least a 50,65$ one. Go for one thats rated for more watts than you got. The thing about cbs is that you may only really need it once. But when you need you wont regret the money. peace an dozer grease..

Yeah thats fine. an yes your right peaked an tuned... shouldn't be more than 50$... Under the passengr frt seat there is a great place to get the cable out of the vehicle. jus lift up the carpet an find the mini fryn pan, it's up side down, go throw the grommet... you may have to poke a hole n it.. you need a goood 20' of cable to get you to the back... but K-40's are great.. I'm running a 62" custom whip, that a local machenst made me.. it's bad ass.

You could put the CB in the center console so it's not visible but it's easy to get to

    What?

Taking the cover off they most likely boost the power output from the FCC mandated 4 watts.

Tuning the SWR isn't hard. A Meter can be picked for fairly cheap and all you do is put it in line between the CB and antenna. Check your readings on Channels 1 and 40 and adjust the tip of the antenna for a low SWR reading.
