There's these people who have snowmobiles with short tracks and short suspensions. They like to drive in traffic at high speeds, and if their snowmobile leaves the groomed trail, they get instantly stuck.

I don't get it either. Its like paying money to get to drive in traffic.

Oh wait, I *do* get it. Its coming back to me now. Way back a million years ago when I was a teenager and before I got a driver's license.

I did the same thing in Northern AZ on muddy roads after a heavy rains. My first real solo 4WD experience and it taught me some valuable lessons. My own gear to help someone else help me, HAM comms, and eventual upgraded tires.

I've been on many public roads that are gravel or unmaintained, two way, one car width with no option but to back up or pull off into the woods to allow traffic to pass. If a Road has no posted sign, no fence or gate and is listed on every map I'm looking at as a public road then I have no reason to assume it's private. If it is private and they get angry then it's not my problem. I'm not a mind reader .

Don't blame me when you find yourself having to pick bird shot out of your tailgate.
If its single lane and unsigned, then whether its on a map or not, 99.99% chance its private.

Oh, and for that matter, government services (like garbage collection and emergency) USE private roads, and they even sometimes NAME AND MARK them where they meet the public road.

Not me. But there ARE crazy people in this world who will go to extreme lengths to "protect" their property. I'm just suggesting to you that you take care not to piss off crazy people.

Then maybe they should put up a sign that says "private road" and not give it a fucking name like every other road .

You aren't given a choice in the matter. If the government wants to put up a sign on their road marking your private road, then they're going to do it whether you want them to or not. And in a way it actually makes sense, since how exactly can you invite the police to defend your property if they can't find the place?

We HAVE harassed the municipality over this very concept, in fact, and FINALLY last year (after 2 decades), they altered the road sign to include the suffix "PVT". But it doesn't work. Seems that people who can't figure out that its a private road can't fill in the missing letters in PriVaTe.

The real crime here is the vertical video...:annoyed:

I feel personally victimized for having to watch it all the way through in that format.
