So unless you can get the long wheelbase you will keep an Outback?

Nah, getting the truck just going to keep the Outback for rowing gears up & down the road to Mt Bachelor day trips.

Already committed to the 2019 DCLB A/T as I’ve pre purchased the OVTune kit :D

I had an 89 P/U and 96,06 Tacoma's before my 17,all manuals. The dealer didn't have any manuals in stock so I just ordered one without even test driving a Tacoma. I went back a couple days later just to drive one to see what the ergonomics felt like,my first impression was "fuck,I sure hope the M/T isn't a dog like this P.O.S."

They didn't disallow me -- your words. I didn't seek their permission. Toyota simply eliminated the option altogether and gave me the choice from among the available options that still met my requirements.

My wife had no say in the matter at all. The only thing I sought her counsel on was her opinion on color -- and even then, I didn't end up selecting the color she liked.

My testicles remain intact and firmly attached.

Good luck reclaiming yours someday! :ballchain:

And yes, I'm trolling you. You 100% deserve it with that "allowed" nonsense. :D

Toyota disallowed you by not giving you the option, similarly to my wife disallowing by not giving me the option to buy a manual!
Also, a happy wife means she buys me parts! Win win. Lol

Well, I will say that whoever signed off on the reverse ratio in these trucks has rocks in their head. Yeah, higher sped than 1st.. that'll work.

You could put in 4W lo if you’re not turning much, it would probably help on a steep incline or boat ramp

The only time I have ever regretted driving a manual was going home in city traffic after running my 1st full marathon.

I agree on the reverse ratio - it makes backing a trailer up an incline pretty damn irritating.

I'm shopping for a 3rd gen now and vacillating between the auto and manual. My 1st gen is a manual 5 speed, which I like.

But I like the Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select options. The truck seems more capable with those added features.
